Apple cider vinegar should be diluted, maybe 1/4 teaspoon in the water dish.I am trying this remedy right now I will let you know how it works, although I am using it for skin problems it is supposed to work for tear staining also.I have read also that if you know the dog has yeast allergies not yo use it for that.Just thought I would add that for any reading who want to try it for their dogs skin problems.

It is also said to be good for humans as well and has lots of healing properties. I have started using it today also. You can find the info about it and other home remedies on earthclinic.com.

For tear staining you can use ditilled water.I noticed they were not tearing in 2 days.I used the walmart brand for babies. And its cheap with no chemicals.

Hope this helps
