| I homecook and I feed according to activity level and calories needed. I also weigh Punkin every 1-2 weeks to make sure she is good. Now that it is winter and we are out for fewer walks due to the extreme cold, I feed a bit less so she doesn't gain. |

| I also free feed. Daisy Mae's breeder left food out for all her babies. Especially when they are so little and Hypoglycemia is a concern. Daisy is going to be 8 months on 3/2, and for about a month now I feed her Halo puppy food mixed with her kibble and then I break up some freeze dried chicken over the top. I feed that to her morning and evening. She goes crazy when she knows I am making her food. She loves it. ![]() ~Kathy

| I free feed . Chloe gets about 1/4 cup of Wellness core daily and usually doesn't finish it. She gets about half of that portion in the morning mixed with some canned food ( she usually eats all of it) then I put the rest of the kibble out a bit later for her to free feed on throughout the day , she usually eats most often during the evening but usually doesn't finish it all. She also gets a small amount of yogurt ( sometimes mixed with fruit or alongside raw carrots and thawed frozen green beans) in the afternoon and some treats throughout the day for potty rewards and training. My other dog has the same routine , just a bit more of each since she is 10 lbs. and Chloe is under 3 lbs. .

| Rory (12!!! pounds) and Lane (8 pounds) eats 1/4 cup in the morning and 1/4 cup in the evening of Evo kibble. Some mornings they are not hungry though. They attend doggie daycare daily during the work week, so they also eat about 2 generous tablespoons of Innova canned with some mixed in veggies for lunch at daycare - because they are so active at daycare - we don't generally give lunch on weekends unless they are acting hungry. We are also trying to put a little bit of weight on Lane, so that may be too much food for a dog that wanted to maintain 8 lbs. I have always found the feeding guidelines to be much higher than what I actually feed. I figure they are in the business of selling dog food, so of course they want them to eat more.

| I've always fed all my dogs - large and small; young and old - twice a day. I think it is better to split up the food instead of one big meal. That is what my vet recommends. Also up to the age of 6 months I feed three times a day. Currently my two yorkies get 1/4 cup of kibble twice a day with treats of fruit and/or vegetables whenever. When I have something suitable, like chicken for dinner, they get some. I just leave the seasoning off their piece. |

| Thanks for all the replies! They're very helpful. Before she got sick I was feeding Violet 3/8 cup dry kibble per day (1/8 cup three times a day). She's on a prescription wet food now, but I think 3/8 sounds very reasonable for when we switch back. She also gets treats here and there...

| Max is 1 yr old and weighs 6.5 lbs. He eats 1/2 C. EVO Turkey & Chicken Small Bites. (or if eatting Wellness Small Breed 3/4 C) I put it in his bowl through out the day when I notice it is gone (space it out- free feed w/no set time).
