Tucker (5 months) gained alot of weight too in the beginning, he was 2.5 pounds at 10 weeks and around 16 weeks he was 5 pounds , however he has only gained a few ounces since then, so I think he did the majority of his growing between that time frame.
Your baxter is adorable!!
I heard that too and I tried feeding him less in the morning and at supper and feeding him at lunch but then he wasn't really eating his food in one sitting or even within the hour of me putting it down for him. So I changed it to the two feedings and we are quite liberal throughout the day with his fruit snacks... I suspect he gets about another 1/4 cup in fruits and vegies throughout the day till supper... do you think I should go back to another "lunch" meal??

Thanks for your input!

Walter

PS Your babies are so cute as well!
