Ellie was getting chicken or turkey, carbs (rice, barley, etc.), mixed vegetables and oil. She is now going to whitefish, sweet potato and oatmeal.

Layla is about the same age as Dolly how do you prepare Layla's food? I bought one of the Beaba babycook steamer and grinder last month, to homecook for my 4 month old rather than buying commercial baby food, and its so easy Im thinking about using it to cook for Dolly as well

Layla gets 3 oz of either turkey or fish- we are just starting to bring in Bison, Vennison and Rabbit. She gets 1/3 c of a green veggie- steamed and then i have to food process the crap out of it or she will pcik out the pieces and not eat them then 1/3 c of either pumpkin, sweet potato or potato. She doesn't usually eat that much a day but that's the max that she will eat. Susan calucated it out for her weight and the number of K/Cals she needs a day. She gets a supplement for her pancrease, she gets a probiotic formulated for dogs- a calcium supplement formulated for home cooking and a multivitamin. Hope that helps | |

I have one more question for one, (geez, Im just full of questions). my chihuahua girl Shorty has been having elevated ALT of 188 on the last check before meds. her vet has done BAT, xray and liver biopsy, BAT came out normal, the other two are inconclusive, and her vet has put her on Denosyl and a low protein diet, and its been working and her ALT level is within 100. but I felt like I don't really know whats going on/whats wrong with her at all! is there any further step that I could go to find out? thanks so much

| no problem Tell her you are from YT- she loves that! When you book the consult online- make sure you choose the 78 dollar one- there is a more expensive one but that is with a doctor as well and is usually only for dogs with severe medical problems! |

Have you thought about ultrasound? Beyond that I'm not sure and that may be inconclusive too. Evidently there is some type of liver cell death somewhere or something going on because the ALT just shouldn't be that high. Why was it tested to begin with though? Is this an otherwise healthy dog? Had she been exposed to any toxins before the ALT reading?
