| what's wrong with tyson's tail!!!!???? just a moment ago I was looking at Tyson's tail and I found something strange and I'm soooo afraid that it's something very wrong!..I found like a ring before the tip of his tail that skin got off and it looks like if it's falling off..the ring is a greyish colour and it's like a hole all around his tail on that spot(which is right before the tip of his tail) what might it be!?looks like the tip's going to fall off and he doesn't like it when we touch it and sometimes he tries to bite it..I can tell it's bothering him, does anyone know what it might be!? |

| Could it be a problem with ring worms? He's young enough to require deworming. Also, since this fungus is contagious to humans and other animals, keep clean and don't rub up against him and be careful of where he licks. Get it checked by the vet to verify. I'm sure you will anyway since he'll be needing his 8 week puppy shots. |

| I had a cat (she was a feral kitten) who used to suck the end of her tail and it got like this...she ended up needing the end of her tail amputated. He needs to see the vet right away to make sure it isn't something dangerous to his health and if it turns out he is causing the problem, getting his tail wrapped so he can't get to it while it heals.

| euhmm i dont know if he got caught in something when the lady had it, but here he is watched all the time even during the day because my mom stays at home and he didnt get it caught while he was here. i sent a picture to my friend , she is a vet tech and if she doesnt know what it is she is going to show the pictures to the vet she works with. I want to bring him to a vet but my mom doesnt believe me thats its not normal, she said that he bites his tail, but i dont think a dog would hurt himself for nothing so I called my friend. |

| If he's biting his tail, it's for a reason. Something is bothering him, or hurting. Poor little guy. I'm sure he will be fine. I would wait to hear from your friend, then take him to the vet. You don't want whatever it is to get infected. It is totally not normal though. Something is going on there. Good luck and keep us posted. Sending him great big hugs.
