| If he's biting his tail, it's for a reason. Something is bothering him, or hurting. Poor little guy. I'm sure he will be fine. I would wait to hear from your friend, then take him to the vet. You don't want whatever it is to get infected. It is totally not normal though. Something is going on there. Good luck and keep us posted. Sending him great big hugs.

| That was my thought as well. It looks like his tail was going to be docked then someone's mind got changed and took the band off of it. I would definately have him vet checked. You don't want an infection getting in the open sore. He may need antibiotics to prevent infection. It's not worth the risk. |

| It definately looks like an amatur attempt to do a tail docking. Some people used to use a tight rubber band to try to dock tails. It's very cruel and was probably done by the breeder. i doubt if it will heal well. I would definately have the vet check it as it may be infected |

| My Gosh - I can't understand why You are not taking him to the Vet. Something IS wrong with his tail and he is only 7 weeks old and tiny...Do you know that IF it is infected he could go down hill very, very fast ![]() Please GO to the VET - This is definitely a time when YOU should ASAP |

If this is an infection, or the beginning of one - you do *not* want to wait. The bottom line is, it's bothering this poor baby greatly and that alone needs vet care.
