| I didnt realize they 'mark' i mean i have a full grown male uncut german shepherd and he doesnt mark. ??? Anyway, it sounds like 6-7 months is a good time. Im not the sort to put stuff off like this but it sure is hard thinking about it because i dont like that he has to be put under. ![]() I guess i have almost 2 or 3 months before i have to really worry about it. I saved my kiddo's teeth, so I can imagine probably saving furkid teeth too LOL

| Biggie was neutered he was a tad over 5 months. Our vet recommended we do it before 6 months. |

He has a inguinal hernia that needs to be fixed so that is why he is getting his done a month earlier than the normal age. He is 5 pounds so he is big enough. I agree with the blood work too

| My Gizmo is 3 months old and the vet said 6 months is good time but later another doctor said 5 1/2 is fine also. Doctor said because they have a special price of $300 in Dec so its fine. I don't even know how much it cost. Anybody knows how much? |

| Agree with 7 or 8 months to give baby teeth a chance to fall out, but also take into consideration his weight. If he's a 'tiny' baby, you may have to wait longer for him to reach a safer surgery weight. Rocco was neutered at about 8 months and 6lbs. We got lucky (with the help of some Himalayan chews, bully sticks and tug-of-war) and he lost ALL of his baby teeth and didn't start marking before he was neutered.

| Toby is currently 5.5 wks and the vet recommended to get him neuter. I'm reading all kind of info and I was wondering if I should wait until he is 6-7 mos. to wait for his baby teeth and get all done same time to save time and $ and caring and recovering? Need some input pls. He's is currently about 6lbs. Not marking yet. |

| Hi, We will be spaying our Yorkie at about 6.5 months of age. I am very concerned about the procedure she weighs about 4lbs. I did the dreaded thing and googled the process. I am kind of nervous about the whole thing. I know our vet is rated the best in the area but I am still so worried. It is not that I won't get it done. I am just concerned. Her teeth have been falling out quite regularly actually. She kind of has a bumble from rudolph the red nose reindeer look. My concern stems from the breeder who said to wait until 10 months. Any comments or suggestions? |
