YT 500 Club Member | Did anyone see the thread just below this one? It's all about coconut oil as a remedy for fleas. I haven't tried this, but I plan to. I've also read on YT that a dab of geranium oil on a harness or collar will help dissuade fleas and ticks from taking a ride on your dog. Here's a link for the coconut oil thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...al-remedy.html

| About the diatomaceous earth powder. Just rub it on the fur. Any where there are fleas. On furniture ,outside . It natural so it can`t harm nothing. It works. |

| In the past I had used Program on my persians and they seemed to work. Right now with Molly, I happened to see a few on her belly, I just washed her with Dawn dishwashing detergent and then do a lot of vacuuming. I'm going to try using a flea collar in the vacuum cleaner as well. So far, I haven't seen any more fleas or either Molly or Fritzie .

| my yorkies had fleas last summer and i used one of those flea shampoo. afterwards i called my vet to ask if that will do it, and my vet started yelling at me that those shampoos are deadly to dogs, especially little ones. she recommended monthly flea treatments instead. so please don't use those flea shampoos on your dog. the vet said they had a big dog die at the clinic as a result of constant flea shampoo use. now it's spring time again, and i woke up with some itchy bumps on my leg....and my dogs also had some raised bumps that were itchy. i think it's the comeback of the flea again, but haven't actaully seen them on my yorkies. |

| Hello, new here. I read this thread a few days ago and got DE. I am wondering how long it takes to kill the fleas? I am still seeing them on mama and the puppies. |

| I use Revolution for my puppy. He was infested with fleas when we got him and we went through Advantage, Capstar, flea sprays etc and nothing worked. The vet gave us a flea shampoo to try and Revolution and they've worked! I also use the Orega Pet spray and oral drops as well and I haven't seen a flea on Max in over a month! Sooo happy. |

| We have been using a topical treatment for fleas and was bathing my dogs about a week after application and my vet told me that I was just washing the flea meds off. Told me that I need to leave it on for the month. Has anyone else heard this as for what I'm hearing on this site, no one has mentioned this and everyone talks about how often they bathe their pups. Just wondering!!

| We use Trifexis, it prevent heart worms and intestinal worms also. We bought one pill from our vet for $22, but it will last Toby for 4 month because of his size, so it isn't too bad. |
