He sleeps, eats eats eats, plays with bandit supervised, take walks, poops pees that is what he does. He does not and has not been responding to any type of training even from a professional trainer. We do not know why. I do a lot of fun things with my other puppy Bandit and he responds to all sorts of games, this one will not. We have all tried. So why AM I NOT ALLOWED to say things about him? Should I pretend he is so great? He is badly bread obviously and has a poor temperment, it is like he has zero personality, that is not my fault, its the breeder's for breeding him this way. Soundness and temperment is of utmost importance in breeding...then we have the being left to do as he pleased before he came to me. We are still working on it, he is NOT responding to house training either. We have him with a professional trainer on Saturdays which is today, all we can do is TRY, he gets loved and cuddled but he cant be spending his life only cuddling and not trying to learn things. He just does not seem interested in learning. You all give me a break please and stop the badgering when ever I make a complaint. I have a right to make complaints about my dogs. | Try feeding him pineapple, it makes the poop taste unappealing to them. You have to remember that you brought Scooby into your home and it is your responsibility to care for him and be patient and loving towards him. I understand that its hard to bring a puppy into your home who is already 5-6 months old but this is a yorkie forum and think people are just not fond of the way you speak about him, its not about you moaning that he eats his poo but the way you do it, saying he has no personality (which all dogs have, no matter how they were bred) is not about to make people warm to you is it? |

But it is true, even the trainer said he seems empty and not responsive to praise, or anything . I will put pineapple can I use canned or must it be fresh, fresh may be hard to find now.

| Here is a link for you. http://www.diamondsintheruff.com/docs/poopeating.pdf It explains it (puppy mill puppies are notorious) and the solutions. We used "Deter" with my older dog when he was a poop eating puppy. Good Luck.

Does he ever get the zoomies, do the yorkie head tilt, bring you toys, sleep in funny little positions, that kind of thing. His personality doesn't have anything to do with his breeding. It's due to the environment he was raised in for the first few months of his life. This behavior developed over months of being in that environment so it can't be unlearned over a period of just a few weeks. I've dealt with quite a few puppy mill dogs and sometimes it just takes a lot of time, patience, love, and persistance to get them where they need to be. As far as the poop goes, he should not be pooping that many times in a day. Maybe once or twice. And his poop should not be so soft that it smears all over his face. That is a sign that something is not right. I would look into changing his diet.

And I will requote this from you "I don't think she was talking about tricks and such. I think she meant more of what do you like about him and what does he do that makes you smile Does he ever get the zoomies, do the yorkie head tilt, bring you toys, sleep in funny little positions, that kind of thing."Answer to all of this is a BIG SAD NO He does not tricks, he makes no funny gestures, he does not play with us but with Bandit, he just wont respond to us and our wanting to play games with him. What are the Zoomies? His head tilts to the bottom yes if that is what you mean. He wont bring or go after toys. He only curls up in a ball to sleep nothing special or funny. He makes no inquisitive looks or gestures. So unfortunately I have NOTHING to report there, it is not my fault, we are trying he is not responding. It is as if he is an empty shell with no personality or character, it is really sad . When you call he WONT come, come is just not something he likes to hear he starts to tremble. Is there something else we can do to make him come to us, as when we reach for him he shakes also. When he eats, he eats very fast without ever chewing the kibble which are big enough for chewing, he ´swallows it in seconds. I have been feeding them apart for a couple of weeks now so it is not competition eating.

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | he should not be pooping 4-6 times a day. If i were you i'd change his diet. Go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and get a food that is 5 stars. These are better quality. poop is stuff in a dogs diet that he cannot digest and has no nutrients, so if he's pooping that often, his dog food must not be that good. If you feed him a better food, then he will absorb and use more of it and poop less.

| Cocoa eats his poop too if he gets the chance so I try to beat him to it and get it cleaned up before he does.

| Here is what I just read about stool eating. Remedies range from adding B vidamins to the diet, using Accent sprinkled on the dog's food, and using products sucha s"FOrbic," which are available in pet supply catalogs and stores. What works for one dog ay or may not work for another. In short, the only sure-fire way to prevent this is by picking up after your dog as quickly as possible and disposing of the "tasty tidbit." Simply aversion therapy can be done by letting the dog approach the stool on a long lead. If he starts sniffing it, give a strong leash check. If he passes by, praise him. Adding an alfalfa tablet, or Deter, is a safe, good-tasting and effective method designed and tested to eliminate coprophagia (eating of feces) in dogs. visit www.petmedexpress.com I copied this from HOW TO BUY AND RAISE A GOOD HEALTHY DOG by Terri Shumsky Hope that helps |
