| Here is what I just read about stool eating. Remedies range from adding B vidamins to the diet, using Accent sprinkled on the dog's food, and using products sucha s"FOrbic," which are available in pet supply catalogs and stores. What works for one dog ay or may not work for another.
In short, the only sure-fire way to prevent this is by picking up after your dog as quickly as possible and disposing of the "tasty tidbit."
Simply aversion therapy can be done by letting the dog approach the stool on a long lead. If he starts sniffing it, give a strong leash check. If he passes by, praise him.
Adding an alfalfa tablet, or Deter, is a safe, good-tasting and effective method designed and tested to eliminate coprophagia (eating of feces) in dogs. visit www.petmedexpress.com
I copied this from HOW TO BUY AND RAISE A GOOD HEALTHY DOG by Terri Shumsky
Hope that helps |
