| No testicles Hi every one its me again... With one more question. I took Tin Tin to the vet to ask him about getting his operation done ( shhh.. don't tell him that ) It turns out that his testicles haven't descended. The vet said it is a bigger operation. He said, TinTin could still get Tilly pregnant, its unlikely but it does happen. So I need to get it done soon. Im so scared for him hes so little at just 2lbs. Has any one else's Yorkie had this problem and operation. Were they ok. Also should I tell the breeder. Its genetic isn't it. |

| How old is he? Turbos didnt drop until he was like...10 months if I recall correctly. He was a lot older...Might want to wait a little to see if his come down on their own, and keep you babies separated.

| I would wait and allow them more time to drop. Kasey didn't drop his first until he was well over a year and his second until around a 1 1/2 yrs. He is small too. From what I have come to understand, nondescending is more common in smaller males and also takes a bit longer sometimes. And yes, he will still be able to impregnante a female with ease! Yes, there is more to the surgery, but it is still fairly simple as far as surgeries go. |

| I would give him some time, and just keep him out of harms way...so to speak.

| I just spoke to our vet the other day about the little boy yorkie my son and his fiance have, he said between 5-6 mos. that's when I had my biewer neutered also..they won't do them on them here at 4 mos. plus, I think if I'm not mistaken, they have to be at least 7 mos. to get the female pg.. |

| I had a toy poodle, he weighed around 5 pounds. His testicles never did drop. The vet recommended having him neutered anyway because he said if we didn't it could cause other problems later in life. We didn't have any females at the time so that wasn't a problem. He was small and because it is a much more serious operation than normal we decided to just leave things alone. My Rocky lived a great life for 13 years. He wasn't bothered by not having them drop and we were very lucky none of the things the vet said could happen did happen. I'm not sorry I made the decision to leave things "as is". Good luck with your baby. |

| Yes, it is genetic. You should definitely tell your breeder. |

| We had a mini dachshund about 12 years ago. When we took him to be neutered the vet told us one testicle did not descend and would cost more for the surgical procedure. We had it done (don't remember the cost but it wasn't too too much or I would remember). We never had any issues with him or the surgery. Now knowing what I know, I would definitely tell the breeder. |

| A dog's testicles should be in the scrotum by 6 weeks of age. Some do take longer of course, but they shouldn't be taking months and months to get there. Yes, cryptorchism is genetic so you should inform the breeder. You also DO want to have him neutered because he has 10 times more chance of getting cancer than a dog with descended testicles. You could wait another month or two to see if they decide to come out on their own, but I'd go ahead and have the surgery if they aren't there by 6 months, ESPECIALLY if you have a female.

| I don't know. I just know I just finished my anatomy exam this afternoon and we learned that for dogs, testicles pass through the inguinal canal at 1 week of age and then should be in the scrotum by 6 weeks of age. The most common problem with cryporchid dogs is that the testicles aren't able to ever pass through the inguinal canal and therfor get stuck in the abdomin

| Gino is getting neutered on Tuesday. He is 7 mos and one of his testicles hasnt decended at all. But she feels it right under the skin. She said the surgery is a little more involved but he should be fine. Gino is 2 lbs 12 oz.
