| First Grooming Appt a disaster I took my new puppy Angel in to get a hair cut today. I am planning on getting her spayed in a couple of weeks and wanted a puppy cut for her. I dropped her off about 11:15 this morning and was told to be back about 2:30. This groomer comes highly recommended. She said on a first appt. she likes to take her time and go at the puppy's pace so they don't have a bad experience. I got there right at 2:30 and the groomer/owner told me it would be about another 15 min and my dog was the most spoiled dog she has ever worked with. She called her a princess....she said she bit her, scratched her, didn't like her bath and cried the whole time. This sounded really odd to me since Angel hardly ever makes a peep. She is so quiet. She said I really need to start treating her like a dog so she knows she is one. I did not know what to say....She went in the back I thought to get her and I heard a dog crying...my heart dropped..it was Angel...I told the lady at the counter to please go and get my dog we were leaving. I said she has had enough stress for one day. The groomer brought Angel out and told me next time she would have a better haircut. I paid her and left. I came home and rewashed Angel with Katherine V's great shampoo (thank you) and put a tee shirt on her. When I was putting on her t shirt, she cried out..I am wondering if the groomer hurt her leg? She told me to take her to my vets and have her checked for worms because her breath is so bad. I told her it was because of her baby teeth. I am so upset, I want to cry! I gave Angel some Nutrical because she has been shaking ever since we got home. Sorry so long, just had to vent!

| This is the very reason I haven't taken Hannah to a groomer. I am sure there are great groomers out there but finding one that will treat my baby like I will is a different story. I used my husbands clippers on Hannah and I know that I probably messed up but I am going to learn myself so I won't have to leave her at a strange place for hours where she is scared. How is your baby now? Has she calmed down? |

I am going to learn to do it myself or find a mobile groomer who will be out on my drive way so I can keep an eye on her. My husband was very upset when I told him...he said too spoiled? What is that supposed to mean?

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Me, tooooo! I'm sometimes tempted to take Abbie just to have her straightened up some, but I just can't. I've heard so many horror stories! So, she'll just have to make do with what I can do!

| Oh, I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience. I'm very nervous about getting Tetley groomed too. I brought him to a groomer nearby for an intro a few weeks ago and he freaked out. I was there the whole time and the groomer did very little to him, she just trimmed his bangs, cut his nails and tried to brush him. He was not having any of it, so we stopped. She was really nice and didn't want to charge me since she did so little but I gave her some money anyway. He's getting a few mats under his arms though that I can't seem to get out so he's going to have to go back soon and it worries me so much since he hates it! |

| I bought all the dog grooming supply's when I was fostering Yorkies and Bichons in order to save the rescues money. I got really good at it, so when I got my girls, I just groom them myself. |

| Oh, poor baby! Was this a private groomer or does she work for a shop? MY dogs need to be groomed, I try to do it myself, would really prefer a "professional" groomer, but people like that are what makes me do it myself. |

What upset me the most is her saying she is too spoiled and needs to learn to be a dog...she is such a good dog, she doesn't bark, growl, bite...etc Angel is so laid back, she makes Bailey look hyperactive. Angel isn't even 3 lbs yet, a very tiny girl. And then hearing Angel cry...she never does that! I am going to have to figure out how to do it..she was so stressed out, I could not even go to the bathroom without her following me. Bailey went upstairs and she started whining because she couldn't find her.

| Hhhhmmmm............needs to learn to be like a dog. Who is she to say? And shes not a dog, she's your baby. And she is small and probably is just a puppy. The washing part is easy, put a little warm water in the tub and shampoo them in there. Get them used to being brushed. Then I usually try to clip them with scissors, but they will only tolerate it for so long. They will not allow me to cut their nails so I take them to the vet for that; it is expensive, but I have no other choice. They get long so fast. If you do end up trying a mobile groomer, please let us know how that goes. I have considered it, but I am still very hesitant. Hope your babys leg is feeling better. |

I am going to look into the mobile groomer, I used to have one that would come and cut our Pom's hair. Do you live in Carson City? I live up on Mt Rose hwy....not to far...I bathe them all the time and trim up Bailey's behind...I had just heard great things about this groomer and how she specializes in yorkie cuts...not impressed...she isn't limping, my son took her shirt off and she yelped a bit when he removed it but is fine now...I will watch her closely. She is a puppy, 7 mo old yesterday.

| Maybe when you made the appointment you should have asked if it was anywhere near her PMS week if so reschedule . I would definately tell her that you believe she may have caused a injury to your dog. Spoiled & princess is the groomer & vets nice words for brat. I called a groomer HE told me he would keep my dog 4 hours & I couldnt be there, I said I couldnt leave her, he said fine & hung up-I was pissed. I left feedback about the way he runs his business. I dont mind that they correct them a little & even know they sometimes have to hold them tight & it may cause a little bruising (so I give baby asprin after) But to leave them-NO WAY! I have yet to find a groomer I trust with my girl I hope your baby is alright. |

We got 8-10 inches of snow last night...yipee...my daughter had both dogs outside playing (after she cleared a spot) they are both warming their tiny paws by the fire. I'll send you an email later with measurements. Thanks, they are never going back there! My daughter had to hold Angel for me this morning so I could fix her haircut! Oh brother!

This lady says she specializes in yorkies! My foot!! I am having to retrim her. Well I am going to let her hair grow out after she is spayed anyway, I can do the small maintaince stuff. I don't mind if the groomers do a correction either but you should have heard her crying....heart stopping! She never really makes a peep, this was very out of character for her she is very laid back!
