| Water in nose eyes ears Why is it bad to get water in these places? I really try hard to avoid them but Miley is very sqirmy during baths and its hard not to get water in these places. She likes to stick her nose in the water.

| When I bathe Huey, I pretty much just hold his nose down as I pour water over his head because he will tilt his head up and then splutter and cough with water in his nose. He seems to hold his ears down pretty well during this process, and had never had an ear infection, and I don't use any ear dry products. In fact, we had a vet visit today right after a bath and I warned her he had just been bathed and probably had water in his ears and her only concern with his ears was they were too hairy to see into very well. I told her I didn't pluck his ears and she said as long as there weren't any problems, she didn't see the need. As for eyes, he gets water and soap in them and it doesn't phase him a bit.

| Water in the ears is bad bc they can get an infection...that's why most of the ear cleaners have alcohol in it, so it can dry out. I fold their ears down when I wash their face & they don't seem to mind if the water goes in their eyes. I use tear free puppy shampoo or the Espree foaming facial cleanser (also tear free) for their face. Holding their face down like Marhcarter does will prevent the water from going in their nose.

| They can aspirate the water and get very scared of it plus water inside the nose burns like heck. Try it yourself - it burns the inside of your nose pretty badly. Water can irritate eyes and can even start an ear infection if it gets in the ear. Tibbe hates to get water in his nose so after each and every rinse of his face I instantly rub over his nose with my thumb to get any excess water off it before he has a chance to breathe it in. I know it burns his nose since he snorts and snorts and starts rising up on his hind legs if he does get any water in his nose.
