| Plug ins are no good at a dog show but maybe that is not why she was asking. |

| I use a plug in chi at dog shows all the time....my chi has never given me a problem unless the one my brookie chewed and ruined it OMG I freaked because it cost so much UGH...but stupid me left it hanging so she could reach it...unplugged of course....but my question is why use a flat iron on a pet? All my pets never get an iron because they don't need it...I use it because I do wrap my show dogs ![]() Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

I love my Chi and have asked many, many different hairdressers what they perfer all have said Chi. Sedu are also one of the best of course as well. But I would not count out the Chi becuase of one persons bad hair, as there are too many other factors that could of lead to her damage. Chi's did have the shorting out problem, but many of those models were recalled and the newer ones seem to be much better. | |

| I have a SEDU Revolution and I love it. But I am using it on my own hair, not Ben's. I could use it on him I guess, but his hair goes very straight with blow drying and pretty straight when I let him air dry. Maybe not show quality straight everywhere, but nice. The Sedu Revolution has the curved edges, so you can use it not only for straight hairstyles but also to give lift and curl. I am too old for those cute totally straight styles, but with a little lift on top and a gentle curl at the bottom, it's great for me. Course none of that would matter on a Yorkie where you want it all straight. Another nice thing about the SEDU Revolution is that it comes in a Mini-size too, which I think would work a lot better on a Yorkie than a full-size iron. One more idea would be to be sure and use the same sort of protective products that we use on our own hair before ironing. I like the Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide and sometimes the Butter Treat. They keep the hair from getting over-dried out from all the heat, and add shine! Biosilk works too, but sometimes makes my hair look oily. Last but not least -- good place to buy irons -- folica.com!

| they have flat irons that are like 6 inches in lenth with super skinny plates that would work for long haired dogs.. the mini ones i guess. IMHO Chi's are not worth the money. there are so many other BETTER flat irons than a Chi. i've heard that your hair gets caught in the plates with Chi's and they wear out fast.. meaning they don't get hot as they first do when its brand new. i think Chi's are only popular because most of the major hair salon chains carry it to sell in their stores.. who knows. i currently own the paul mitchell smooth works flat iron & a GHD IV styler (LOVE IT!) superfast heat up and the plates glide smoothly down your hair. if i flat iron my hair it will last up to 3 days (in good weather of course) & i have naturally wavy hair ![]()
