| Sore from top knot? We took Cookie to get her groomed, she looked so cute with her little ponytail. I noticed she had been scratching at it and i thought it was b/c she wanted it out. I left it in from saturday to yesterday, it wasnt tight at all. I went to take it out yesterday and noticed she had a scab. Could it have been too tight and caused a sore on her scalp? what should i do? Take her back to the groomers so they can look at it, put vaseline on it and it will soften and eventually fall off, or does this require a trip to the vet? She is getting spayed next friday and i dont want anything to get in the way of that! Although im soooo nervous about this whole spaying thing!

| Hi!! I am new to posting but read alot.. I just had to respond to this.. On my furbabys first grooming this same thing happend. We went to my vet and covered the cost of course and his hair fell out. It was sad but it has since grown back, that was almost 2 yrs ago. I was afraid it would not come back at all because there might be some sort of scaring (crazy but love my baby). His hair did come back a different color.. Hope your baby is ok!! Angela |

| Thank you guys for your concern. So we went to the vet at petsmart and they said that it indeed came from the topknot(ponytail) They had to end up shaving that spot and gave us some topical ointment. It is a little small spot and i didnt mind having it shaved, she just looks funny and now she has a comb over =). Petsmart was very, very sorry and covered the charges and the follow up visit in two weeks. The girl that groomed her, is so nice and i know she didnt do it purposely. I will continue to take her there, b/c she is so patient and gentle with my baby (she tries to bite her every time she is there)!!! i do hope that her hair grows back b/c i think she looks so cute with her ponytail. I tried to get a picture, but she is just too darn frisky!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | This subject is so upsetting to me! As most people know on here, Bella got her throat cut by the groomer last week and she is bandaged up right now.. im so sick of these groomers being careless with our babies! im sorry your lil one had to go through this.. such a hassle to go through. Groomers need to start taking their time and slow down. Grrrrr ..

| Did the groomer use a rubber band for Cookie's topknot? I always forget to tell them not to use rubber bands on Chance. |

Top knots need to be removed every night. Do not pull them out...cut them

| Yep, they did use a rubber band and she was rubbing it(her head) on the carpet and it was matted. I agree they do need to take their time with our babies. Im so sorry about bella! that is heartbreaking....I hope she feels better. Did they cover the charges for her?
