How do you keep from cutting them too short? I think I'm gonna get one too. I also have a collie. If I get the elite will I still be able to use it for Zoe (my yorkie)? or do I need both the elite and the petite? |
I am thinking of ordering this too. |
I had sent the link to my MIL.....because LilyGrace and I have a birthday coming up.....AND I just got an email from her today that said she ordered the petite for me!!! :yay_jump: I am sooooooooo excited!!! I can't wait to get it! :dribble: I hope I can use it right.....the video looks so easy!!! I just hate the thought of hurting one of the babies!!!! |

Yes the elite is the same as the petite it just has larger holes as well as the smaller ones. If you get the petite you can only do the yorkie's, but if you get the elite you can do them all (collie included). So I suggest getting the elite. |
I soooooooooooo need this...Im going to see if I can find out if they ship to Canada!! Thanks so much for this info and link!! Dawn |
Dawn, I just ordered mine yesterday and it is on its way . Hope it works better than my regular dremel , I decided to try it on Remy's nails the other day and all was going fine until she moved her head and the hair on the side of her face touched the sanding drum on the dremel and the whole thing ended up tangled in her hair ! She was yelping and thrashing while I was trying to shut the dremel off...man oh man.. I was just shaking by the time I got the whole thing untangled from her head , so I'm hoping the guard on this other one will prevent this from happening. Dawn on their website it showed the petite with the plastic guard on it. I've ordered the petite and if it does'nt come with a guard I will be sending it back for sure! Eileen |
I was just wondering if this makes a loud noise like a clipper when you use it?? If it is pretty quiet I am thinking of ordering one. |
Only a few more days until our birthday party and I get mine!!! I can't wait!!! Those that have them....either one....did they come w/ a guard? Are they noisy? Are they heavy in your hand? I have no clue which one my MIL ordered....I hope the petite one though! |
Anyone get theirs yet?? |
This looks like something I could use at home  In doing a bit of research on it I ran across the following site and it seems as though there have been a few problems recently with defective batteries. Has anyone experienced this ? http://www.petgroomerforums.com/chat...hp/t-9400.html |

Yes I would like to know this as well. Since most of my dogs are kept in a full coat, it is very important that it has a guard so the hair won't catch. That is one of the reasons I have never used a dremel, too dangerous. But according to their website the guard on it suppose to prevent it from catching the hair. So I would really like to know if it comes with guard. Peppi is older and every time I clip her nails they end up breaking and splintering after being cut so this would be perfect for her as well as the others. If it comes with a guard I think I will have to order one and give it a try. |
I think that if you buy the tool it comes with it. They just added the safety guard separately for people who already have a dremel they can use it with that. At least that is what I gathered from the online posts about the batteries. I would love to get this product for my babies. I have been clipping all mine forever now it seems and they do okay, but I wish that it was more comfortable for them and for me. Plus I would love for the edges of their nails to be smooth. |

It does make some noise but its not bad. Its not too heavy IMO. Mine is the elite and it has a guard I think they all do. |
OH NO!!! My MIL ordered this awhile back and she said that she got an email a few days ago saying it was now backordered!!! I hope I still get it!!!! |
Here's some info that talks about problems with the batteries... http://groomblog.blogspot.com/2007/1...-groomers.html This is a pretty recent article too. So looks like that guard attachment is available to purchase for your own dremel... |
Not sure if this was brought up already, but this looks good. Anyone tried this? http://www.kimlaubecoshop.com/index....PROD&ProdID=30 |
I'd be interested also if anyone has tried this. |
I am trying to buy it but there is a problem with there credit card program. They say that even my debit card is not valid or whatever. I know that I have money to cover this and it is still not approving me. Weird. I want to try this so bad. Anyone who has one of these I would like any pros and cons of them. Thanks, Sharon |

I just got this response today from the peticure company - Molly: We were not seeing the battery problem as much with the Petites as we were with the Elites. We are getting brand new shipment with fully functional batteries for ALL models first part of Feb. |
