| Help Hello all.....I'm in desperate need of help....my yorkie Max is a bad boy but we love him....I don't mind most of the stuff but it's the potty training that's killing me...me and my wife work but I get home at 3 pm which leaves him with my other dog alone for several hours...my other dog was a breeze to train but max isnt...I crate trained my first but Max was to small so I tried the play pen method...he goes on the pad but then rips up the pad so it's all over....any ideas or should I go a different route... |

| Have you looked into the UGODOG training method? it's like a tray, the pad goes in the tray then a plastic grating goes over the tray, puppies cannot get at the pad to rip it up. The urine does through the grating so puppies feet never touch the urine. Google it and take a look.

| Thanks for your help....Quick question...would he back off of that thing because hes not "on the pad"??...I mean I already ordered it so im going to try it but at this point anything would help....I was outside with him for 1 1/2 hrs last night and he wouldn't pee....The minute I got inside he did....So at this point he associated the pad... |

| I myself have never used a UGO for my puppies. But I know ppl that do use them for the very same reason you have, tearing up the pads lol. In my opinion I would say it would be like pad training all over again but without a pad. Max will have to be taught to step into the tray as there is no visual of a pad. I believe you will be very satisfied with this method once Max is retrained to use the UGO. All my puppies were house broken at 7 months old and were leash walked, so no potting in the house.

| I ordered it so I will definitely try....That's the thing...When we are home they both go outside...Its only when we work that the pad is utilized... |

| We have a Max also that is getting potty trained. We can say hallelujah now because I think he's got it! He came home at 8 weeks and is 23 weeks old..boy how time flies! About 2 weeks ago he would come sit and stare me down...id ask you have to go potty? He bolted for the door, ran out did his thing then ran back inside (it's been 40 here so too cold to play) he uses pee pads to poop or if I miss his cue he'll use the pad. That's ok as long as it's not on the floor! But I work from home so he's had lots of time to catch on and be trained. And there is probably 3 pads out on the floor he's on so that helps. I also only allow him on the main level of the house, no downstairs, basement or top floor for him till I trust him 100%! That helped once I narrowed his opportunities to hit the floor. I think time ( his maturity level) and putting in the work (us) is what turned the tide for our Max |
