| We do a 13 hour trip every year. Shelby has made the trip twice and will be going for her third time this summer. We also travel with an older lab. They travel VERY well. We put a large dog bed on the floor in the back. The lab stays there and Shelby goes between that and my lap. We stop when they "ask" which is 3 - 4 times for the 13 hours. They have breakfast in the morning before we leave and Shelby gets a small amount of food around "lunch" then they both get dinner at the usual time. We've never had any problems |

| 17 hour trip I have taken our Graysee from Spring, TX to Tucson, AZ and back, which was a two-day trip, each way. I use a Fido Rido car seat, and keep it in the rear right passenger seat. That way, at stops I can look back, and/or reach back, to see how she is, or give her a little pat. Graysee loves to ride in the car, and will either look out the window, or just lay down and rest/sleep. She doesn't do much with toys on long rides, although I always bring along her favorites. She will let me know when she needs to go potty, but other than that she is very content in the Fido Rido. I would recommend this product to any Yorkie owner, as it has worked quite well for us. The price has increased since we purchased ours, but I still feel that it is well worth it. The 'manufacturer', located in Indiana, recently added an accessory, optional foam pad for the edge of the seat (after I had mentioned that I had purchased pipe insulation foam and fastened it to the edge of Graysee's seat, to give her a soft, non-slip surface to stand on when looking out the window), and I would suggest including this in the purchase. You can simply type in fidorido.com, and it will take you to the site. |

| If you really want her on your lap than you can buy a safety harness, I do this all the time when I am on a family road trip, and there is not a extra seat for my Yorkie! Here is the one that I use: Top Paw® Pet Safety Harness | Safety Harnesses | PetSmart Works like a charm |

| I know what you mean by wanting to have him in the front seat with you, I also always want that, here are the two products that work great for that. Snoozer Console Lookout Dog Car Seat | Booster Seats | PetSmart Perfect, it basically adds another seat and Top Paw® Pet Safety Harness | Safety Harnesses | PetSmart I just attach it to my seat belt and she sits on my lap. What ever works best for you |
