| I'm not sure if you have had your flight already but I flew Air Tran with Sasha last December. It was our first time flying together and she was only 8 months old. She did well. I had read that sometimes flight attendants will be be nice and let you take your pet out of the carrier but they told me she had to stay inside. It was only a 2 hour flight and she slept through most of it. I would fly with them again as they have the cheapest fare for pets but they no longer service Orlando. |

| I fly with them all the time but I haven't taken any furballs with me yet. I was on one flight where the couple across the isle from me had a puppy. They had it out of the crate during the whole flight. When the captain announced that we'd be landing soon the flight attendant very nicely told them that they would have to put him back in his crate for landing. I think they are OK with it as long as the dog isn't too noisy or restless. Last edited by Lou; 09-28-2009 at 12:16 PM. |

| Hi, I brought my baby home from the breeder on an airtran flight. There was a total of 12 people on our entire plane and the flight attendant made me keep Moose in his crate under the seat for the whole flight! I know rules are rules, but she definitely wasn't flexible or understanding. Just depends on the attendant you get. |

| I fly Air Tran all the time to and from Florida, ONLY cause they are the cheapest price for bringing your pets on. Although the ticket price for MY flight is usually 66 dollars each way...Pasquales is 69 Dollars each way AND he doesnt get a seat....CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHATS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?? I have to put my dog in a place where people put their carry-on luggage for FREE?? Grrrrr...i'm really just annoyed with the Airline industry. I would say the majority of the flight attendants DO NOT let your furbaby out of his/her bag. One time when the flight had just landed and we were taxi-ing up to the gateway...the plane parked...door opened....so i took Pasquale out of his purse and was going to carry him off the plane and thru the airport...NOPE...the flight attendant at the door stopped me and MADE me put Pasquale back in his carrier before i exited the plane Ugh...some people are just so NOT dog friendly..it amazes me.

If all pet lovers made a big enough fuss over the treatment of our little ones by the airlines, I wonder if something would change I'll let you know what happened in our flight

| Sugar and I just returned from Michigan on Airtran. The flight attendants were RUDE and OBNOXIOUS! She said that I had to put "MY ANIMAL" in IT"S "CAGE"....... NOW........and for this treatment I paid $140??? Sugar was terrified and cried/howled/whined for over an hour The "gentleman" next to me told me that " a slap on the nose will stop that".....I said EXCUSE ME????? He repeated it and I said NOT HAPPENING! How about I SLAP YOU????????

I'm going to tell my husband to save some money....I may need bail money. I may hurt someone's feelings reeeeally bad and now-a-days, I hear, they escort you out on handcuffs from the plane for yelling at those idiots. Last edited by kionini; 11-04-2009 at 08:27 PM. Reason: spelling and grammar
