| Which one....Andy or Harry?!!!!!? Well, Andy's doing just great - picking him up from hospital tomorrow morning at 10 a.m....it was 'keyhole', so Nurse Sally will have to deal with all the aftermath.... Approx. 4-6 weeks off work. A stapled slit in his neck about 4" going downwards. Loads of pain (still managed by morphine and tramadol) and quite bloody - Nurse Sally will receive a pack of dressings in various sizes - plus gloopy dressings to cover those, for when he bathes or showers.... As for Harry - well, every time Harry + I scrummy up in bed (me with my naughty biccies etc. etc.) I take a little bowl of stuff that I've prepared for him earlier - yesterday it was a cooked chicken breast, delicately chopped - tonight it's some cooked chicken livers...alongside his doggy biscuits. You ALL are soooo good - I know you're all totally on our side and that's really shone through and kept me going. The fact that Andy's coming home so soon bears witness to that. Thank you all, love you to bits, and wish I could meet you all in person xxx

| That's wonderful news. I think Andy will heal faster at home surrounded by his loved ones. I hope his pain lessens each day.

| Why Andy, of course - he's the boy with all the ouchies but jeez, Sally, coming home tomorrow??? Yikes and yikes again. They run them through the hospital these days before you can turn around and say "boo"! Sounds like you have a pretty tough job nursing once he comes home. Rest up today and tonight because it's going to be rocky this next week. Who could believe he would go in Sat., have spinal surgery and come home Monday? But these days with all the germs and yuckies you can catch in the hospital, it's probably safer at home - just 40 times the work for you! Hugs to Harry for being Mommie's bedtime buddy and getting you through the long evenings. Deep breath now, you can do this!

| The two guys and you:) Thank you for the latest news. It is wonderful that Andy is progressing so well that they are sending him home. But for you it must be scary to have to do the post op nursing, hope you feel comfortable doing this? Did you have a choice about bringing him home so soon or could he have stayed in a skilled nursing care facility until he is stronger? I do hope that the NHS will provide some help from a visiting nurse. All the pain and wound management will be hard on you and as Jeanie says, you need to get your strength up to do this. Will he have a neck restraint to keep that area still when he moves around and sleeps? As you can see, I am no Florence Nightingale and don't think i would do a very good job;(. I am so sorry that the pain is still substantial and hope that Andy will have what is necessary to ease the pain, and that this painful period will soon be over, and his healing speedy. So sweet that you are making little care packages for Harry too so he doesn't feel left out when you are resting in bed with your yummies. Thinking of you and praying that being home with your tender loving care will soon make Andy better. Take care of you too, and make time every evening for your Sally and Harry relaxing time. Wishing you all well. Lots of love and hugs, Dot oxoxoxo |

Andy will have to have the staples removed in 10 days time - and then a follow-up appointment in 6 weeks to check all's well. When I went to see him a little while ago he seemed a lot brighter...the thought of being home with us has bucked him up - which is all that matters to me. No neck restraint...but I have made up the bed in the guest room, and Harry + I shall be camping out in there, for the next few says at least (terrified of one of us touching it, or making him move in a funny old way!). Once again, all of my wonderful YT friends....THANK YOU. I truly mean that....thank you for being there, from the 3 of us xxx

| Andy Poor Andy he sure has been through the mill with surgeries and hope this is IT! It seems that you have experience of complex post op nursing, and I am sure that will help you through this one. I wish I had those skills, as nowadays hospitals dont keep you in too long after surgery. I wonder how people who aren't good nurses manage? Happy that he was in good spirits tonight and he must be looking forward to his comfortable home bed tomorrow. Praying all goes well for the discharge and that Andy responds well to your wonderful care. I guess there will be no picking up Harry for some time! Until the next time. Love and hugs, Dot |

| Just popping in to check on Andy's progress and can see he is soon to be home. Nurse Sally, you seem to be prepared for this duty! I'm sure Andy will be glad to be home and Harry has probably been wondering where he is. Prayers and hugs!!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm so happy to hear your hubby is coming home and is doing well after his surgery. I'll be praying for a great recovery. I know how hard it is to nurse an injured hubby. Mine broke his back about 18 months ago and it was tough. Make sure to take care of yourself as well😀 |

| We're HOME!!!!!! Andy's all tucked up in bed, sort of semi-sitting, with a pillow protector on his top pillow. I've put his 'hospital table' kind of over him to protect him from the whirling dervish that is Harry.... with all his bits and pieces on it - the remote control being his No. 1 priority.... I was shown, in great detail, how to change the dressing, and how to cover it all up when he bathes or showers (which I'm NOT doing today...sorry!!!). He looks really pale and exhausted - I think even the car journey home took it out of him. With all the medication that he's on, I'm hoping that he'll get quite a lot of sleep this afternoon And then there will be roast beef for dinner tonight...try to build him up a bit, he's lost over 2 stone since Christmas - but not in a good way - more like muscle wastage, poor man. So that's the story so far - and thank you all once again for your lovely thoughts and wishes Sally, Andy + Harry xxx

| Welcome home to Andy, now let the healing begin. I am sure he is comforted to be in the good hands of Sally and her assistant Harry.

| Andy Welcome home Andy, my, I bet the bed feels good I can imagine you are exhausted after the transfer, but you will feel more energetic soon after a rest among the soft cushions. Nurse Sally, it sounds like you are all ready after the hospital training to give all the TLC Good that you got the anti Harry table thing worked out last time. But I am sure he will try to get up on the bed for a tummy rub. I can smell the lovely roast beef from here, aaaah! Roast potatoes, sprouts, and Yorkshire pud too I hope? That should put a smile on Andy's face and some weight on his body! Harry might even get a taste too? Get well soon Andy, and hope you all enjoy the delicious dinner. Love and hugs, Dot :-) |
