I do hope that the NHS will provide some help from a visiting nurse. All the pain and wound management will be hard on you and as Jeanie says, you need to get your strength up to do this.
Will he have a neck restraint to keep that area still when he moves around and sleeps? As you can see, I am no Florence Nightingale and don't think i would do a very good job;(. I am so sorry that the pain is still substantial and hope that Andy will have what is necessary to ease the pain, and that this painful period will soon be over, and his healing speedy.
So sweet that you are making little care packages for Harry too so he doesn't feel left out when you are resting in bed with your yummies.
Thinking of you and praying that being home with your tender loving care will soon make Andy better. Take care of you too, and make time every evening for your Sally and Harry relaxing time.
Wishing you all well.
Lots of love and hugs,

It IS scary...but I saw him through his last post-operation (over half his colon removed) at home, and managed that...which actually was more challenging to me. That scar now goes from just under his rib-cage down to his 'private parts' and, 2 years down the line, still looks quite red to me...although Andy says it isn't sore in any way - and the doctors have said it's 'healed beautifully'...?!!!!? I guess I can just see the difference....

Andy will have to have the staples removed in 10 days time - and then a follow-up appointment in 6 weeks to check all's well. When I went to see him a little while ago he seemed a lot brighter...the thought of being home with us has bucked him up - which is all that matters to me.

No neck restraint...but I have made up the bed in the guest room, and Harry + I shall be camping out in there, for the next few says at least (terrified of one of us touching it, or making him move in a funny old way!).

Once again, all of my wonderful YT friends....THANK YOU. I truly mean that....thank you for being there, from the 3 of us xxx
