Thanks. Ken is at home and mostly sleeping. Eating hardly at all and hard to get his meds down him. Our daughter spent the day with him yesterday and he was more alert with her than he has been in days. My BIL sat with him today while my sister and I ran out and he said Ken slept the whole time. We see his oncologist tomorrow and will know more of what the future holds. I am so grateful for all your prayers. |
Patti I have had Ken and you in my prayers since this long hard journey started. I lift Ken up for healing and hope and pray that you are taking care of your self too. |
Checked in for updates. Thank you so much for keeping us all with you on this journey. We pray for you and Ken daily. |
You seem to have so much going on. I think of you and Ken often. And I have to agree with another poster you need to be taking care of yourself. Sending prayers and hugs |
I was just checking in to see how Ken AND you are doing.............I'm so glad that he is at home where he can at least have some peace! Take care Patti........I know how difficult this is. God Bless you both........I think of you and say a prayer everyday!!!! |
Thinking of you Patti and wishing strength for all of you...hugs |
Throughout Ken's illness, I have been praying for you. I know what i's like to love someone like you love Ken and feel powerless to help them in that way that you so desperately want to. Your love is very powerful, Patti, and you give of your huge heart so freely. I hope the sun is shining for you tomorrow and that you both are feeling more hopeful. |

I continually am lifting you both in prayer, it is understandable that Ken would want to be at home, I just hope that you can get some outside help Patti. I know being a full time care giver is really the hardest time in ones life, and it isn't easy to get help, and is quite expensive through health care sources. God is always with us and carries us through what life deals us, Bless you Patti. I pray that Ken can draw strength through everyone's prayers, and soon be wanting and able to eat more.:animal36 Love from us both, Patti and Jack |
Thinking of you today Patti, and your meeting with the oncologist. Praying Ken is feeling stronger today, praying for his comfort. |
Thanks. The oncologist and the PA said his CT scan was stable with some minor improvement. He felt that Ken was suffering the effects of the chemo and that in 2 weeks he should start feeling much better. He does not want to put in a feeding tube yet. He is afraid of infection and does not think Ken can take another procedure. So they switched his appetite stimulant to Marisol and want him to start the antidepressant. They think that understandably so he is depressed or apathetic and therefore not eating. I am just praying Ken will start to eat soon. I went and carried out his favorite hamburger and he ate 2 nibbles and 2 fries. He will get hydration 2 times a week and we meet back with the oncologist in 2 weeks. I know Ken will not do anymore chemo so I am praying he can gain some strength and remain stable for a long time. I can't believe how exhausting it is to try and get some one to eat and drink that doesn't want to. Thanks for sticking by us! |
I am so happy to hear there was good news on the CT scan and I hope Ken was given a lift hearing this. :) I can imagine it is exhausting encouraging him to eat. My family went through the same thing with my mother. Praying that the appetite stimulant and antidepressant will help with that. |
Patti & Ken, Hang in and take strength from all of your skin and fur friends on YT :D |
