I'm so sorry to hear Ken is not doing well. He is always in my prayers daily, as well as you, Patti. I hope he will feel better once he has had hydration. Bless both of your hearts. |
Thinking you and Ken today. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. |
I took Ken to the Er instead of hydration. He is so weak I could hardly get him here. I called the dr and pa 2 hours ago to tell them and have not heard back. The nurse for the hydration told me to just bring him right to the er and nit wait to hear from the doctor. I can't believe they haven't called me. I am losing faith in the doctor. Ken should have not gotten to this point without a feeding tube. The er doctor said they plan to admit him so hopefully they will. I need prayers so badly as i am so afraid. Thanks |
So sorry sending lots of prayers. And many hugs for you. |

Maybe you consult with the doctors there about switching Ken to a different doctor to oversee his care - they can probably offer you a recommendation on who they'd use. It is so very important to have faith and confidence in your physician. |
sending prayers I dont know you Patti...but i am sending prayers for you and Ken. I am new to this forum and have been following this thread for a few weeks now...I am sooo sorry you are going through this. I know first hand this is not easy...please please remember to take care of yourself...eat a little something and try and get your sleep..i know easier said than done especially when someone you love is ill. May God keep you and Ken in his loving embrace. Jacqui |
Patti I am just now finding out you are in the ER lifting the both of you in prayer and that Ken has been admitted as in patient by now. I will spare some forth coming words on my part being said here and my thoughts on the lack of the medical communication that has not been given to the both of you..........in closing of what I have just said, I feel like getting on a plane and coming there and raise some hell with a few that has been in charge of his care. Love you Patti, and praying for you and Ken, your both in my thoughts night and day. Hugs from us both, Patti and Jack |
Patti, I don't even have words to express how much admiration I have for you for your tireless support of Ken, and for being his advocate every step of the way. You have not gotten the cooperation and support either of you deserve from the medical community, and it is such a shame. You do however have many many people supporting you both through prayer, and this will continue. We all wish so much that we could do more. Hang in there. Hugs to you both too. |
I just called Patti, they are still in the ER , now been five hours, she said Ken will be admitted when a room is available. They are hydrating him, I hope the ER Dr. Can get through to his Onconologist. His Onconoligist still has not phoned :( she is so thankfull for all here in the YorkieTalk family praying for their needs and loves each of you, you are her rock. Hugs, Patti and Jack |
I worked today and talked to Patti early today and on my lunch hour...then forgot to take my phone back with me, so I was on pins and needles not being able to call or text her. I am hoping she will be calling or texting soon...will let you know when I hear something. I feel so bad for them and upset with the lack of medical care. Not surprising though...it seems that had gone downhill all over the US. |

Prayers for God to calm your fears, Patti and to give you strength. |
I am outraged that Ken's doctors have acted so inappropriately. Shame on them! Praying that Ken will now get the care he needs from caring physicians, and praying for God to give you both strength, Patti. You both remain in my heart, thoughts and prayers daily... not once daily, but all day! |
Patti I am sending out more prayers for Ken. I am so upset to read how his Doctors have treated him. Please keep us posted. |
Patti, Can't believe you are being treated this way. I am a medical provider and I am appalled. Told myself to "be quiet" but then opened a new bottle of wine and said "no way" Two things: 1. PA's are not independent practitioners like Nurse Practitioners (NP's) are. Therefore, they can only do what the M.D. who employs them allows becuase they are supervised by them. Nurse Practitioners are independent and can write medication and orders when they are needed. This may be one of the reasons you are not getting the communication you need. 2. Call the local American Cancer Society and tell them you need a second oppinion referal and what do they recommend. They know who the local oncologist are and even though they may play it pretty neutral they know who is who. Ask for their help and tell them your frustration and fears. 3. I am going to PM you. I am close to Chicago and my Cali is a Service Dog and goes anywhere I do - let me know and I will be there. I have followed you from the beginning and you need an assertive (hate to say aggressive advocate) on your side. Prayers and blessing for you and Ken. You two are remarkable!!!!! |
I'm saying more prayers for you and Ken. I hope the doctors at the hospital will be able to help. I wish I could do something to help you. Sending big hugs. |
