Patti I will say a special prayer for Ken tomorrow, that you get some hopeful information from the PET scan tomorrow and that the radiologist can get started on shrinking that tumor. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. |
Continued prayers for you and Ken. |
Ken had the PET scan this morning at 7:30 and now we are home for a couple of hours until our 1:00 appt with the radiologist. I am a bundle of nerves. We are praying the PET scan was ok and that the radiologist agrees he can get some radiation. No matter what we need to get some treatment started. I will post later today when we get back. Thanks for the prayers. |

I am so sorry you and DH are going through this. You have my prayers and thoughts with you always, I pray you both get whatever is needed for a good outcome. When you have a spare moment, check this site out: LIVESTRONG.org |
I usually give one of these to people who I know that have newly diagnosed cancer: please order one and I will reimburse you for the shipping (they are free and an excellent resource): Accessories - Guidebook Set |
Thanks Kathy. I will order one. We met with the radiologist and he went over the PET scan with us as he was first seeing it. He mentioned that the right mass lit up and another mass on the right side but closer to the middle? He also said the neck area on both sides showed a lot of activity. Well we knew the right side since they removed the lymph node 2 weeks ago. I was surprised by the left side but mentioned to him that he had the chemo port in that area and if that could have caused the activity. He said good question and that he would check. He said that he had lymp something in the right ches. The lesions on the left lung did not light up and neither did the adrenal tumor so that was good news. Something showed up in the abdomen but not sure what that meant. He feels it is Stage 4 based on the PET scan. They are doing a roundtable tomorrow with all the different specialties and then we will hear what the recommended treatment will be. Ken has an appointment to get marked for radiation on Wednesday. That way if they decide tomorrow on a short (3 weeks) period of radiation before chemo he will have an appointment. I am so drained. Thanks for the prayers. |
Oh Patti, I know this is tough and we were all hoping for better news. But, again I'm going to say hang in there, stay positive and strong as much as you can. The PET scans are an interesting diagnostic tool, however they can show things that aren't actually cancer too. Only a biopsy can definitively diagnosis a cancer tumor. Hope the doctor's develop the treatment plan and get Ken started soon. At least at that point you will feel more in control, once you are actively fighting the cancer, instead of just looking at it. Prayers and hugs going your way ~ :hands::hands: :hug60::hug: |

Patti, you and Ken remain in my prayers daily. Anything your YT family can do (prayers are a given), please let us know. You will not walk this walk alone. We are all here for you. |
Patti, you and husband remain in my prayers. I pray that the doctors who will be conferencing on the PET scan results will put together a treatment plan that will get Ken on the road to recovery. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} |
