| ![]() Speaking as a new member and first time yorkie mom, sometimes our dogs do peculiar things. Sometimes I feel my Nikko is possessed or just plain abnormal because of the things he does. Then I come here and post my concern and people are gracious enough to respond and I learn that other dogs are doing the exact same thing and that it is normal and I shouldn't worry. It is comforting and its nice to hear from people who have been blessed to share their lives with their dogs for years and have the wisdom of experience. Although at times it may seem that the same topics are being discussed, I always look forward to new perspectives and advice, no matter how many times the subject is covered. If I feel I can contribute even the slightest bit of information to put someone else at ease, I am more than willing and eager to share it. Its a shame that people have become so cynical that even responding to another person's questions annoys them. |

Why would you assume that any question in here is not legitimate? With your vast years of experience, I'm sure many of these "stupid" questions, are no brainers to you. But that doesn't mean you can assume the person has some sort of personal negative agenda! Maybe they are newbies...and haven't found their way around yet...or maybe they are looking for another opinion..or maybe people might raise questions that might be a little uncomfortable for some in here...hey...sorry...welcome to America! Whatever your "comfort level"...it is still the right of anyone on this forum to ask a question. If you don't want to respond to a question...simply don't answer it! End of problem...geesh.... ![]() And come on...you KNOW I don't "think it's okay to breed tinies" and I am tired of having to correct people who continue to state this. I have said over and over again that I would not breed any of my babies because the risk is too great regardless of size...I just wouldn't risk losing one of them, that's all. But, I have nothing gainst the breeders who make this choice despite the risk. The other thing I have said repeatedly is that I know there are breeders who successfully breed yorkie females who are under 5 pounds including some vets, and I have never seen any imperical or scientific studies or data to support the mantra that so many chant on here about how "unhealthy it is to breed a tiny" and I just refuse to participate in the breeder basher ![]() I have found in my own research several quotes from reproductive specialists who seem to disagree that it is any more dangerous to breed a 3 lb yorkie than a 5 lb yorkie, but I have never said "it is okay to breed a tiny". I leave those decisions and judgments up to those who know. ![]() | |

Administrator | ![]() The nature of Internet forums is one that will bring about the same questions over and over. We do tell new YorkieTalk members that they can search for their question before they post a new thread, but sometimes newbies may miss that. A member is always free to ignore or reply to a question as they see fit. One helpful way to reply may be to seach the topic for the original poster and then give them a few YT search results in a reply to their thread, gently reminding them that the search feature is available for their use. |
