| Complaint I don't like coming to yt. The front page I come to has the worst animal abuse stories that literally make my stomach turn. It makes me angry, I cannot get the stories out of my head and I DO NOT want to see them. I wish there was a way I could block them. Just needed to give my 2 cents.

| I agree that it is hard to watch but unfortunately like with any other kind of abuse &/or tragedy, if we keep it hidden we can't keep the word out that these types of things do happen. It is heartbreaking to read..

| When I come to YT, the first thing I do is hit "new posts". This will pull up all of the newest posts and I can pick and choose which ones to read. You don't have to read every thread. Also, if you run across a happy yorkie story in the news, feel free to post it. I have done this and it's pretty cool. I put a happy face smiley to show that it's happy news.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | My bookmark for YT is not the home page but the one that shows the forum sections (is that an index page?). I usually just click on new posts and then most any thread title gives you an idea of the thread subject. You could avoid seeing the front page animal abuse stories this way. But, I agree with Ericka. As unpleasant as the abuse stories are, I believe knowledge is power. If no one read, these monsters would continue to get away with their actions. Or judges will continue to treat the cases as misdemeanors they've been plead down to. At least by reading it's possible to get involved and hopefully put a stop to some of these atrocities, or at the very least influence the prosecution/punishment of the criminals.

| Animal abuse is a horrible thing and it is important that people are informed. However, it is a little shocking when it is one of the first things you see when coming to YT.

Administrator | Thank you for your feedback. We feel that all Yorkie news is important, and there are good or informative news stories as well in that forum. We see the "Humane Society rescues dogs from local FL. pet shop" and "[News] Widower finds family dogs after wife's fatal crash" and "[News] Doggone Airlines! (4 Reasons Pets Shouldn’t Fly)" in the Yorkie News section right now. As members have suggested, you may want to bookmark the www.yorkietalk.com/forums page as your "front page" to YorkieTalk, as that would just show the forums page. |

| As soon as I come on, I just hit "forums" on the top left. Not trying to avoid the news...I just don't have interest in the front page of YT because I can get all of that info in the forums anyway. With certain browsers, you can also block the banner ad at the top that comes on sometimes with pics of starving dogs, etc.

| I also understand that people need to be informed not push it under a rug... but hello...we are dog lovers that is why we come here. We already know about animal abuse.

| I am glad I did click on one of those stories of a puppymill bust that had video of how horrendous the conditions really were. I knew in my mind puppymills were bad and abused poor animals but I have to admit I never would have realized just HOW bad the abuse and neglect really was if I had not seen it on those videos. I will never forget those poor Yorkies that could not walk from matted hair or the stories from the lady who went undercover working at the puppymill. Now, I won't click on any more. I don't want to face the depths human beings really stoop to on a daily basis. But I am glad that I was educated with the information. I will probably continue to click on stories that are one of a kind, but anything that sounds like something I have already faced, I will probably skip over. I am having a hard time getting one particular image out of my mind right now. The only answer is to skip over the stories once you feel you have absorbed all the evil people do you can stand. The word has to get out, we can't ignore it but, few can keep reading it daily.
