| Can we have a stronger rule against bashing in rescue forum? I'm sure admin is more than aware of what is going on...but the reality is, this needs to stop. I'm wondering about a stronger rule against any kind of bashing of the OP on a rescue/new home thread: a rule with consequences such as suspension. I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread for this, but didn't think it was right to post this on someones "new home needed" thread either. I'm thinking of this because of what has happened here and what is being said here While I agree that in a perfect world no one would ever rehome and I can understand those sentiments, we need to put the dogs first, especially in that forum. Those who want to educate the public can use the other myriad of resources yorkietalk offers.

| I agree. I think when people come to the Rescue and Rehoming Forum that they obviously are looking for help. I don't think they need to be reprimanded, judged, corrected or criticized. Is the purpose of the forum not to find new homes for those babies that need them? Why does anyone want to make those coming for help feel bad or feel guilty about coming to the one place that is set up to offer that help???? That seems so counter-productive to me. There not only should be stronger rules set up against bashing, but those rules should be strictly enforced. I hate to think about where babies end up otherwise. |

| Adding my vote for your suggestion. I think people need to really think of a pet purchase as a lifelong responsibility, but.... I also know that things happen in life that some can handle and others cannot. A poster may not even feel comfortable putting all of their reasons out for the public to read. So, we cannot really judge someone who makes the difficult choice to rehome, especially when they are trying to do it responsibly and say right in their ad that they are going to be very particular about the home they go to. I was impressed with the ones who came on to say they would not have their precious babies if not for someone rehoming. That alone tells me some things are just meant to be.

| Excellent suggestion, Judy. I sincerely hope that Admin implements stricter rules with more severe consequences. Once a person has decided that they need to rehome, chances are, everyone concerned would be better if the rehoming takes place. A rescue/rehome request is not the place for lectures or education, chances are the OP is heartbroken and needs support. I, too, report rude posts |

| The original thread that brought this discussion about has been reported by me several times and IMHO should have been locked long ago. Only one post was removed but I wish all the negative posts would have been taken down and suspensions executed for their uncalled for behavior and unsocilited negative opinions. I hope that with our support new rules will be implemented and then enforced by Administration. The OPer of the thread is now long gone and will never return for any form of help. It is very upsetting to me personally to see so many members that I would never see posting in the Rehome and Rescue forum and their only purpose to post was to bash another member for wanting to rehome In a perfect world, people would not need to rehome pets. There would be no shelters or rescues to address these situations because they would not be needed. Pet owners would be willing to do whatever was needed medcially, personally, financially to keep a pet for life. But this is the real world and where pets are given up because of change in lifestyle, even more sadly others are disguarded, abused, neglected, and even killed every single day. When someone comes to the YT community for assistance in finding a new home for their Yorkie and we as so called lovers of the breed should welcome them without judgment.

| The original thread has been closed and I understand why. It's sad though, I'm sure the OP is never coming back. Perhaps if the bashing/reported posts were deleted early on she'd still be here and the thread wouldn't have gone so far down hill. JMO And the people who'd think twice about coming back or posting would be those who choose to bash without thinking first. I applaud the moderators and Admin for the hard decisions they make everyday and I really hope that this isnt' coming across as criticism...it's not their fault people are sometimes insensitive to what is really at stake. And I'm sure I don't understand the big picture in the same way that they do. I just can't help but thinking that with stronger rules against bashing and the rest of us using "that magic little triangle" perhaps things might get just a little bit better. I know I've said things here that I wish had been deleted right away.

| I totally agree that it is out of control. Maybe you don't like the reason someone is rehoming there dog, but whatever the reason it's not right to bash them. What really matters is that the dog finds a good home. I feel that we should all try our best to insure it gets a good home, otherwise it may land up in the paper, or worse in the pound. JMO
