| ooh the poor baby, it kills me to know a baby is in pain, i would take her back to reg. or a new vet and have it taken care of, spaying and teeth ! Just how little is she ? Sounds like she cant afford to loose any more weight. Please give her lots of kisses, prayers coming your way !

| Poor thing. I know how worried you are because I went through the same thing with Chance last week because his teeth were hurting him. It took him 3 days before he bounced back and I was like you and worried about his weight. He barely weighs 3 lbs as it is and he got down to a little over 2 1/2 and that is scary when they are already small. At least with the bigger guys you dont have to sweat is quite as bad as with these little ones. |

| Oh Tatum we are sooo sorry to hear you are not feeling good!! I know how hard it is to have these little guys not feeling well and not have them be able to tell you what it is!!! I will send prayers for little Tatum to get real well real soon!! Poor baby, just wondering if you have tried giving her baby food from a jar? (Gerbers little jars for human babies).

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Okay back from the vet....Bella was 3.1 pounds at time of spay and teeth extraction. She had like 10 teeth pulled and was home that very night eating canned food! She didnt even have to spend the night My vet felt that getting Tatum out of pain is the main concern right now, and she has to eat. She recommended having a test ran before to see if she will react to the anesthetic also a test ran on her liver. She did use the technical names but there was a big Bassett Hound in the waiting room howling louder than I have ever heard at Bella and Diggy so i was trying to listen and calm the babies at the same time...Did'nt get the names but got the gist of the tests. I hope that helps in your decision.

| These babies really do have their problems once in awhile, but poor little Tatum has had more than her share lately. I do hope she doesn't need surgery on her teeth, but if they have to put her under for that will they spay her at the same time? She is so tiny. I'd worry too. |

| I'm so sorry that Tatum is having such a hard time right now!! I feel terrible for her If they do surgery for the teeth, they should do the spay at the same time. My maltese Emma was just over 6 months old and weighed 2.9lbs when she was spayed and she did okay. I don't know how bit Tatum is though. They should use sevoflourane or isoflourane gas. They wake up very quickly after surgery this way...

| Poor little girl! Honestly, Brooke, if the teeth are hurting her that bad, they need to go ahead and come out. They really don't give them even hardly as much anesthetic as they do for a spaying. In fact, when I got Hootie's teeth pulled, they gave her a little gas, got the teeth out surprisingly quick, and I was able to wait on her and take her home in no time. The whole visit was about 30 minutes. So, keep that in mind to consider.......... Hope your little girl GETS WELL SOON! Hugs from all of us in Alabama! |

| Oh Brooke, I'm so sorry Tatum is going through this. I bet your a nervous wreck You know what I went through with Pia and her not weighing even 2 lbs. when they put her under to be spayed and teeth pulled I so wish I could offer some advice right now. It's been awhile since then but I remember the ER vet telling me that spaying Pia and having her teeth pulled at the same time was too much for her size. The ER vet was disgusted by the vet that did Pia's surgery. This ER vet was the first I ever heard say about not having teeth and spay done at the same time. I always thought getting everything done at once would be better. However, I've never had a dog the size of Pia before either. I just wish I could help you in some way. If your looking for more opinions from other vets and would like me to call mine, just let me know. That ER vet became my new vet and is wonderful. She literally saved Pia's life. I hope poor Tate is feeling better soon. Give her kisses from all of us.

| Poor baby I"m so sorry she's hurting. It breaks my heart to read this thread. It does seem like the vet could go ahead and take the teeth out to give her relief.

| Aw poor little baby! Tink sends her kisses. She remembers how her teeth hurt - but not as bad as Tatums! I hope she is able to eat soon. Did you try some melted or slushy popcicles? At least she'd get a little sugar. I can just imagine how much your heart is hurting for your little girl. We'll send up a prayer for her. |
