You know what I went through with Pia and her not weighing even 2 lbs. when they put her under to be spayed and teeth pulled
I so wish I could offer some advice right now. It's been awhile since then but I remember the ER vet telling me that spaying Pia and having her teeth pulled at the same time was too much for her size. The ER vet was disgusted by the vet that did Pia's surgery.
This ER vet was the first I ever heard say about not having teeth and spay done at the same time. I always thought getting everything done at once would be better. However, I've never had a dog the size of Pia before either. I just wish I could help you in some way. If your looking for more opinions from other vets and would like me to call mine, just let me know. That ER vet became my new vet and is wonderful. She literally saved Pia's life. I hope poor Tate is feeling better soon. Give her kisses from all of us.
