| poor tatum!! Poor Tatum and Brooke...i am just now finding this thread about you guys. I am sooooooooo sorry to hear that Tatum isn't feeling well. Did you get a vet appointment this morning?? I hope you will keep us posted on her. When my girls get the tummy growls, i put a blob of peanut butter in the roof of their mouth forcing them to lick, lick, lick. that will usually get their hunger juices calmed enough for them to eat something on their own. Instictively, if they get the growls, they think they are sick and won't eat. It's a vicious circle. the pepto is good but boy do they HATE IT. I have a script from the vet of a doggie "pepto" that i keep in the frig. it tastes better and calms down their intestines and growls. It is called K-pectin oral. they get 1-2cc. you might ask the vet for some of that to keep on hand for your babies. Please keep us posted on little Tatum. I hope you were able to get some sleep last night too. HUGS! XOXOXO |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | The Final Update....Thank GOODNESS! Hey everyone! So sorry that it has been a few days since I last popped in to update you all. Right after the last update I made, I myself got sick and didn't get online for a few days, so was not able to update you all until now. WHEW - what a scare I had with Tatum! In the last post I made a few days ago, I was at my wits end. However, I have GOOD news! Tate is now back to her normal self again (THANK GOD!) and all is well with her. Surprisingly, I didn't even have to take her back to the vet as the very next day after my last post to you all, she perked up, started eating her dry food, and started running through the house acting completely normal like her crazy, feisty little self! We don't know if maybe she ended up losing a tooth that was bothering her or what, but she is completely back to normal again! Boy, this little girl really does know how to scare her mommy and daddy, thats for sure!!!!! Her ears are however still a little floppy, so my husband MADE me shave the tips as he didn't want them to stay down for the rest of her life (we didn't know if they were still down due to her not feeling well a few days ago, or because the hair had grown quite a bit) so, we shaved the tips last night and they are a little higher up than they were a few days ago, but still not 100% back up yet. We'll see what happens. If they aren't higher up than they are right now in a few days, we just may shave them down completely until they stand again Which I DO NOT want to do because it took what seems like FOREVER for the hair on her ears to get to the length it is now, and I just love that "butterfly ear" look Hubby thinks though that maybe because of her size, when there is so much hair on her little ears, after a while...they just start flopping So we'll see what happens with that - hopefully we won't have to shave them though again after shaving the tips of them this time. Anyway, I just wanted to give you all an update and say THANK YOU so much for all of the kind words, prayers, and PM's. It is going to take me a while to get back to everyone's PM's - but I will do it as time permits Steddy, Tate, and myself send you all a great big hug and Tate says to tell everyone THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of their support and prayers - IT WORKED!!!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Thanks so much girl! They really do know how to scare us! I woke up the next morning (after the last post that I made here) and was all ready to make her an appointment with the vet....then TO MY AMAZEMENT, Tatum walks over to her food dish and at first she kind of just stared at it, like, "OMG, Can I do it!?!????" and then - SHE WENT FOR IT!!!! She just started eating away like nobodies business, LOL! The little stinker! Then here comes Stedman in behind her, and Tatum turns around and starts attacking him like nothing had changed! lol. From that moment on she has been completely fine and totally normal - like nothing ever happened I tell you, when she walked over to that food dish and started chomping away, I just kind of stood there and watched in amazement It seemed like FOREVER since she had done that on her own, lol. I don't know what on earth changed all of a sudden - but WHATEVER...all I know is that she is fine and back to normal again and that she isn't in any pain and that's all that matters to me! AND...she is EATING, which was a HUGE concern of mine. She did lose another 5-6 ounces which doesn't make me at all happy - BUT...at least she is eating again so all is well!

| ah . . .finally good news On the ears though, perhaps there is a connection between her losing her tooth and her ears as it happened to Annika when she went in for tooth extraction. She scared the hell out of me with her ears both down A few commented it might be the hair but I know my girl, no matter how much hair she's got on her ears, they have withstood its weight until the surgery. So, although little T did not get surgery, somehow I feel it is the tooth that's causing it to droop or flop. It should go back up eventually, just as it did on Annika's case Hope this experience will help you realize whatever is happening with her ears is just a temporary thing |
