| For her hydrocephalus? There is no cure. She has had the MRI and has had her film sent to 2 specialist in other states that her neurologist referred to as "the best." They both denied her for a shunt, saying that her condition is too severe and it would not be worth putting her through all the stress of the surgery. We just keep her on meds 2x a day - one for her seizures and one for the fluid on her brain that is supposed to help relieve some pressure.

| Oh - I'm sorry. I hope she's doing better today. Our Lab of 15 years had seizures. It was hard each time he had one. We had him on phenobarbital as well. We noticed a major improvement in the amount and severity of the seizures when we moved from our home in Council Bluffs, IA to here in Las Vegas. Who would have thought? But he was outside "alot" in IA and everything was stimulation to him there. The houses and lot sizes are so much smaller here that he seemed to get less excited about the things going on outside - which in turn kept him calmer and less likely to have his seizures. Infact, I ended up just taking him off of his medicine. The Vet wasn't happy but I felt like I knew Lucky better than he did and I just felt like he was being doped up at that point. He probably only had 2 seizures a year after that so I was happy that I did it.

| Oh I am soo sorry you are going through this!!! On the other hand, Lexi could not be in better hands that's for sure. My skinned son has hydracephalus and a shunt. Shunts can also cause problems as they can get infected. Seizures are very scarry to see, especially when it is your own baby, skinned or furry. I hope Lexi is feeling better real soon. Give yourself a pat on the back from me for being a wonerful mom!!

Strange how things happen for a reason... after doing this for so many years it just comes naturally now. There was a young man at work who suddenly and unexpectedly went into a seizure. While everyone else screamed and just stood there watching - I flew from one side of the room to the other to help him. I would love to see a video of it now, because I am so over weight - I don't think any one thought I could move that fast... nor did I! Best wishes with your Lexxi!
