| Well, I told the vet about Cody's constant diarheah, he tested his poop and everything came back negative. I asked him to deworm him again just in case so he gave me the pill. His diarheah has been worse since his shots yesterday. If you read my other post, Cody had an allergic reaction to his shots and his poor little face swelled up like a balloon! He had to get a steroid shot and some benadryl. Maybe all of the shots are giving him worse diarrhea. I'm hoping the deworming makes it stop. I'm also giving him Forbid to stop his poop eating. I'm getting so frustrated with all this. Hopefully he'll be back to normal soon. |

| Deworming can cause more diareah sometimes. keep him on the yogurt. Call the number on the back of all food & treats to make sure they have not been recalled. Stress can cause diareah. I know it has to be frustrating, just keep doing the yogurt & pedialite & just take time to sit , hold & love him. Poor little guy. Hang in there mom it will get better. Quote:

| I am sure you know that she is very young for leaving her mom. And the loose stools could easily be stress related. Try cooking chicken and rice and blending it well. Yogurt, cottage cheese. Bland foods in small amounts, several times a day. And, of course, make a new baby appt with your vet so they can check for worms and other common ailments. Canned pumpkin should help solidify the stools. Just a little. And what are her sleeping arrangements? When you say everywhere...the usual suggestions is to keep babies in a small space, so that they feel safe. And usually they won't mess in their own area. Then take her outside or to her pee pad often. At least hourly at her age, cuz she has a very small bladder... Cuddles, warmth and love will help the baby too. Oh--and it would be better for you to start your own thread so that you get replies directly to your issue.

| same thing happened to us! it may be parasites .... but ... OMG! What you are describing is EXACTLY like what happened with my puppy .. he had diarrhea for a month, while on meds poopies were fine, once off the day or couple of days after, back to soft poo and diarrhea. He was given meds for coccidia, giardia, and other parasites. So eventually our vet put us on a 4 week cycle of meds, every week we would come back for a fresh bottle of anitbiotics (since antibiotics do have an expriation date), this was done to be sure to get EVERYTHING, at least try to everything, instead of waiting for it to occur. So maybe he will need a longer term treatment, b/c the parasites are hard to get rid b/c some maybe dormat or have eggs that hatch after the meds are done. My dog is STILL on i/d, anything else so far has been to much for his stomach... but i am trying to find better dog food for dogs with sensitive stomaches. but after that month of straight antibiotic (every day twice a day) he's been sooo SO much better. Do you notice anything else weird other than the poop? Is he lethargic? B/c the bloody poo maybe a sign of parvo. We had to take a test to rule that out. Sorry that was so long, but that's what we experienced .. hopefully it helps a little. Camly

| oh! forgot Hi, I forgot to read the rest of your posts (sorry! i replied prematurely. haha) .. but even though he was checked for parasite, some kinds are hard to find in just a fecal test (I think someone has already mentioned the male parasite), and also some kinds of bacteria can cause diarrhea. For example, giardia .. it's really hard to find, we got lucky b/c we brought in a stool sample that had blood. but usually there are only 1-5 of these, and imagine the chances of finding one there. Is there any still water around your house that your puppy can get at, like potted plants on the ground, or even your bathroom floor from the shower? So other ways to find out if there are other parasites or bacteria are bacterial staining or having the vet grow a culture to see what kind of bacteria, but i don't know how much that would be. again sorry for hte long post! and I forgot to say I hope he feels better soon! and hang in there hun! you're a wonderful mommy!

| Oh an what kind of Yogurt should I get for her? She sleeps next to our bed I want her to sleep with us but she is so young I would hate for her to try an jump of or something like that. I have a little bed next to our bed for her but I leave our door open so she can eat I don't want to put her food up since she is so young. I have put puppy pads everywhere an I take her out all the time. |

| I give mine regular vanilla usually, but also the fruit ones. There are several people on here who prefer the active culture variety. My kids spend their nights in a kennel. It used to be next to our bed, but they have since taken over the sun room. My husband and I are too restless when we sleep, they would quickly get smooshed in our bed. The kennel is such a small area that they won't generally mess in there because they like their space to be clean, which prevents the mess throughout the house. My kids love their kennels and will go in them during the day to take a nap. And sometime on top of them to nap. Their kennels are their personal space and they like that. And it is okay that she is young, I am sure you will take good care of her. They just need more time to adjust at that age.

| Cody's poops are very runny now. I'm going to stop the ForBid today. I don't think it is working anyway. I hope that this stops soon! He's got another appointment in 3 weeks. I'm going to give him a couple of days and maybe the deworming will clear some of this up. I'm not giving him anything but the I/D food and boiled chicken for treats. The vet doesn't want me to give him anything with dairy because he may be lactose intollerant so I'm not giving him yogurt. There is not any blood in his stool and he eats and drinks and runs around like a normal puppy should. So hopefully this will all clear up any day now. UGH! |

| Oh and as far as I know he hasn't gotten into anything else like plant water, etc. He does like to pick up leaves, etc. off of the ground when he goes outside and he licks the water off my feet when I get out of the shower. I don't think he has parvo. |

| yea it doesn't sound like parvo if he's active and stuff .. that's what i was told with my vet. i really do hope he gets better soon! 3 weeks is quite a long time away though, i would ask your vet to perhaps see your guy sooner. also his immune system probably is compromised from all the stress, meds, and shots. also if he's been having so problems, i am surprised the vet gave him his first shots already. i was told to wait until he felt better before he would give kikko's first shot (which we were finally able to get 3 months later!) i really know how you feel, so just have patience. hope your little one feels better soon. if you need anything, you can pm me anytime.

| Yes we took her to the Vet she had to get shots anyways. They said its normal for puppies an it may be that she is new to us so that might bring a little stress. I am now trying to train her an its not working out so good! HELP |
