| Eye Problem My little Roxy seems to have something wrong with her Right eye.. Its pretty red and whitish goop has been coming out of it. Anyone know what this could be? Should I be worried, take her to the vet? or is there any at home remedies that anyone knows of that I could use? My older dog had this problem a few months ago and it just went away with time. Could that be all it needs? Please someone let me know ASAP Thanks |

| Poor baby! I hope it goes away on it's own, but you might want to give the vet a call and see what they think. |

| I had a dog that had that once. I took it to the vet and he gave me special eye drops to put in the eye. He said that if I waited then she might have lost sight in the eye. I don't know if it is the same as your pup but I think you should take her to the vet asap.

| I wouldn't wait for it to go away but itself. Why take a risk ?

| Take your Yorkie to the vet! It could be something like glaucoma, which comes on quickly and causes blindness. |

| I am definitely not one to rush to the vet for every little thing, but in this case go to the vet. Mostly likely just an infection and some antibiotics drops will have it better in no time at all. Waiting could lead to more serious problems and bigger vet bills. If for whatever reason you cannot or don't want to go to the vet. Flush it out several times a day with a sterile saline solution found in the grocery store with the contact lens stuff. Last edited by Lacy's Mom; 11-08-2006 at 11:14 AM. |

| You could try cleansing the eye with a warm moist clean cloth several times a day to see if that clears it up. I personally would not wait any longer than a day or two. We had a similar problems with our Tara a few years back. She ended up nearly losing the eye, plus we had to take her to the vet, to be treated, every week for over 8 wks. Our vet did say that eye conditions can take a turn for the worse very quickly so best of luck.

| Hello Not sure if you took her to the vet yet...Buster kinda had something like what you are explaining. The Vet called it "Cherry Eye" which is a clogged tear duct. They gave me a little tube if ointment and told me to apply it 3x a day in the corner if the eye that is inflamed...he just loves that It has been about 3 weeks and the Vet said that it probably wont go away w/out surgery It doesnt bother him from what I can tell bc he doesnt mess with it. Let me know about your little girl. Hope she is ok Tiff and Buster |

| My cocker spaniel, Jaxon, had this as a pup. It is cherry eye and had to have surgery to fix it. It was a simple procedure and he came home the same day. I couldnt stand to look at it because it'd make me want to cry even though it didnt bother him! |
