I am definitely not one to rush to the vet for every little thing, but in this case go to the vet. Mostly likely just an infection and some antibiotics drops will have it better in no time at all. Waiting could lead to more serious problems and bigger vet bills.

If for whatever reason you cannot or don't want to go to the vet. Flush it out several times a day with a sterile saline solution found in the grocery store with the contact lens stuff.
