| I took my cat into an emergency vet last year .. he had a urinary track infection .. they REQUIRED a deposit of $1100 in CASH before they would do ANYTHING. I was so angry. I got to an atm machine as quickly as I could .. got the money and raced back to the vet. The next day when I went to pick him up they told me it hadn't been as expensive as they had thought .. they refunded me $8. I was so disgusted by the way they treated me and I paid them every dime they asked for .. I felt like it was a miracle that my kitty lived. I can only imagine how Marie is feeling... Lis

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would also call Poison Control back and tell them whay-t happened at the Er vet and maybe they can walk her thru some treatment. When I had to call them a couple of months ago when cali had a weird episode and the Er vet told me to call them they were very kind and helpful and once you pay you can call back on teh same thing for free just have your case number. I believe it was an actual vet that I talked to and he told me what to have the er vet monitor based on any of the possible pills she could of had access to.

| Turned her away!? That's just wrong. It has to border on animal cruelty when it's a possible life and death situation. Good grief. I know the ER can't refuse medical treatment to a human, why not pets? |

| Marie I hope Gucci is doing ok.. let us know... I remember once my Gucci ingested hair dye, the vets office couldnt help they gave me the poison control and yes they said they work on donations. The donation was 55.00 charged to my credit card. They told me that the vets there don't get paid a salary. Anyway, they told me what to do and Gucci was fine.. I will say a prayer that Gucci will be ok... Gina |

| Villette? If you are on, have you heard from her? I am really worried! I HATE it when the ER vet expects payment up front! It's just not possible for most people! I HATE that! Heartbreaking! There should be somewhere you could go to get treatment! I think it should be the law or something! You wouldn't turn a person away from an ER because they didn't have the money to pay right then!

| OMG this is horrible I just read what happened to Gucci. I can't believe that she has been turned away from an ER vet. How could they refuse care for a sick animal??? I just looked in my first aid book for dogs and it says that there would be symptoms if she actually ingested the poison. Maybe if there weren't any symptoms then she didn't ingest it. It also says that you could give activated charcoal (ToxiBan) in case of poisoning. It absorbs certain toxins from the intestinal tract--you would just have to check what the toxin is from the box. The book also says that it comes in a liquid or paste form and you don't need a prescription to buy it. |

| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Marie - how are you doing? Gosh, I hope Gucci is ok! I'm praying for you! How horibble to turn you away, that honestly sickens me. we can't all pay up front, especially if it is a large fee. how can they see a dog that may have ingested poison and not want to help it? I really wonder how some people sleep at night...
