| Baby Boy Doesn't Want To Get Up Hi guys, I'm reaching out because I can't figure out whats wrong with my little guy. He doesn't want to get up, he has been laying down since Sunday night. I took him to the vet Monday night, without an appointment, they examined him (temperature, all the usual things) and we had x-rays done. When they brought him back to the room and set him down he ran to me. The vet said she wasn't sure what was wrong, that maybe his belly hurt and that's why he didn't want to get up, she gave us pain meds and I went ahead and bought pumpkin products to mix in with his food to make his belly feel better. It's been five days and there's still no progress, he is eating and drinking water, he gets up to walk more only when he gets his pain medication (although it doesn't seem like anything hurts, the vet felt him everywhere and he didn't whimper and we've picked him up as well), he is going potty normally. He is usually very active, he goes out into the yard like 20 times a day, just in and out, he can't stay still so this is very concerning and I don't know what to do. I will take him to the vet again tomorrow if he doesn't get better by then but I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar or might have any idea about whats going on.

| How old is he? It's concerning that a vet would prescribe pain meds without any indication of what is wrong, or just a guess that it is a belly ache. What is the name of the medication? If he is eating, drinking and going potty normally, I would guess that it is not belly related. When he lies down, is his resting/sleeping position normal? Or does he resting in a different position? Both of my boys have had neck/shoulder strains that caused them to stay pretty quiet and sleep in a different position than they normally would.

| I don't know what the pain med is but maybe that is part of why he is not active? If he is eating and going to the bathroom well, not sure what could be going on. I would definitely go back to the vet. I also might be inclined to take him off of the pain med and see what happens. Oh...and yes, I also am wondering if he had blood test done.

| Thank you, everyone, for replying, and thank you MysticVance for the prayers! He is three, I believe the medication she prescribed was rimadyl. He started walking more Friday night, even "danced" for his dental treats, and has been a little more active since (asking to go outside and wanting to play) but he limped slightly today. He lies down normally, not like anything in particular hurts. He is still eating and drinking normally but no, the vet did not run any blood tests.

| Did the vet happen to check his patellas? If his patellas are out place, that may explain the limping and pain. Prayers for a speedy recovery. I hope you get to the bottom of the problem sooner rather than later - it is so difficult to know your little one if feeling out of kilter. |

YT 3000 Club Member | Check into cbd oil or capsules, they work for pain, anxiety, is and alot of other things. I started giving it to Chester for his colitis when we travel, his hearing and sight are so the anxiety started. I hope your little one is better soon. |
