Yes, sorry every 4 hours for the first 24 hours and if he's not eating place a small amount of nutrical on his gums so that his sugar doesn't get too low. Then he can eat every 6 hours if he looks more energetic. If not, go back to feeding every 4 hours. And work your way up to every 6 hours and eventually down to every 8 hours.

As for the "breeder" yesterday she offered me another puppy ( 1 of his brothers ) to see if that may help..at 1st I thought it was a good idea to BORROW him for a couple of days..she said no not borrow..I said no way I buy another she said no"for me to keep" suddenly I got the feeling that in the end I will have 2 sick dogs since this just sounded very off to me
She may be trying to ease her conscience. Did I understand she is trying to give you a puppy because she sold you a sick dog? I t might be worth taking him to be with Ziggy if she pays the vet bill to get a clean health certificate on this 2nd puppy.......just something to think about.
If your house is that cold put a sweater on him and or keep him wrapped up. Best wishes.

That breeder should be smacked upside her head. That poor baby should still be with his momma....so happy that you realize she is bad news.
I hope you are able to get your puppy through all of this. For now I would feed him small amounts every two hours to keep his blood sugar stable.
Prayers for you and for him....please keep us posted ...

So far he has always taken the food via syringe pretty well except with the last 2 feedings today..he fought me quite a bit. .I feel that I may have overfed him a bit being that the kibble mush, even its very very watered down has a much more fibery consistency filling him up faster ..poor lil guy went limp on me again giving him yet another syrup shot of 1cc..3rd today alone..plus the nutri cal...I can hear his lil belly guggeling...he hasnt thrown up again so far..thank you so much for all your help..I be going nuts without it..he is once again resting in his crate and looks pretty comfy. Did it happen to your baby as often. Must have been the longest month ever for you..how is she doing now..so much to overcome for a tiny precious baby and mommy too <3

Yes she is, she really is a very sweet lady. But I think whom ever hides behind her is not so nice..she says she has a partner in the country and that is where mom & dad are. I asked her when mom will be ready to have more again..she said every 6 month..sounds very wrong to me..something just dont feel right about it all..the brother she is refering to just happens to be the biggest and liveliest of the entire bunch.1 day she tells me on phone she sold the 2 girls(which werent very lively either) and there was no complaints from new parents ..then the next day I talked to her again asking her more questions about a possible liver shunt history she replied that all of her puppies have always been healthy and that in fact she had all 3 (the 2 girls & 1 bro) right in front of her @ that very moment and that they all look and act healthy as can be...talking about sticking ones foot in ones mouth......I then of course HAD to say to her ..but yesterday she had said the 2 girls had been sold to owners that had no complaint..she quickly answered that they are sold but that she is holding on to the pups for them ...yea... something stinks tremendously here

I'm happy to help. I learned this because my doggy was hospitalized and this is what I had to do to keep her alive and it will be expensive if you have to take this pup to the hospital. She collapsed on us once. Due to her kennel cough things got super complicated and she couldn't breathe so she was put in a oxygen box. The giardia my pup had was also debilitating her so I can only imagine how your puppy is if he truly does have coccidia. I think you are doing a great job taking care of him. It truly is a lot of work trying to get them to eat and giving them the meds. Nobody wants this but it must be done.... plus by now I'm sure he stole your heart so it might be hard to switch puppies but you have to ask yourself if you can take on this challenge... and maybe even added on expenses that you didn't think of. I hope that this will only be this and nothing more so keep a close eye on him.

Remember that small puppies are prone to hypoglycemia so you will have to always have Nutri-Cal on hand. At least until they start eating a lot.... I just stopped giving mine some but sometimes I do but I just look at her gums first. I hear that once they get older they don't like it.

Let us know how he does! I'll have you and little Ziggy in my thoughts and prayers!

My first thoughts were this breeder should be smacked also. Sounds like they have no thoughts for the health of these babies. What a pity.

My sweet sweet darling Ziggy went with the angels this AM..my heart aches. He was barely breathing when I took him to the vet..his lil tiny body was so worn ..his screams will forever ring in my heart..I had to let him go, I just had to..I could not let his suffering go on..I will forever be grateful to have had him and would do it all over again knowing this would happen because this beautiful lil guy I named Ziggy opened up a different kind of love in my heart I never knew I had. I thank you all for all your help, prayers & encouragement..I did contact the breeder and she is willing to have the other puppy checked out by a vet and have him issue a certificate of health. I know this can be faked but the vet she is talking about is not far from here and I would be able to verify.I told her that it had to wait till next week..I need time to grief my lil angel..he will always be special to me..I am grateful for every moment I got to share with him and for the opertunity to give him my love..all this said..I cannot ignore these flashes of guilt that keep coming over me and I best vent it now...when I woke up this morning with my alarm "still" going..noticing its been going for 2 hours past his feeding time..I always hear my alarm 1st round (its set to go of every 5 min indefinately)..I JUST DID NOT HEAR IT..( husband was @ work) I know this was out of sheer exhaustion on my part..but cant escape the guilt...I didnt mean to do this to him.. I have never been so sorry in my life..I know in time I will be ok but for now I have to feel and receive its lesson..bless you all ..will update u what we decide about other puppy .in this moment I cant even imagine about wanting another

I am so very sad to read this sweet lil baby did not make it. I have been following your thread praying this little boy would make it. Please do not blame yourself, this baby was very sick from the start, you did all you could to get him healthy. I do hope you get yourself another baby, you will grieve but a new baby will help you heal, I speak from experience. Good luck in choosing what is best for yourself. (((HUGS)))
