Did it happen to your baby as often. Must have been the longest month ever for you..how is she doing now..so much to overcome for a tiny precious baby and mommy too <3 |
I'm happy to help. I learned this because my doggy was hospitalized and this is what I had to do to keep her alive and it will be expensive if you have to take this pup to the hospital. She collapsed on us once. Due to her kennel cough things got super complicated and she couldn't breathe so she was put in a oxygen box. The giardia my pup had was also debilitating her so I can only imagine how your puppy is if he truly does have coccidia. I think you are doing a great job taking care of him. It truly is a lot of work trying to get them to eat and giving them the meds. Nobody wants this but it must be done.... plus by now I'm sure he stole your heart so it might be hard to switch puppies but you have to ask yourself if you can take on this challenge... and maybe even added on expenses that you didn't think of. I hope that this will only be this and nothing more so keep a close eye on him.
Remember that small puppies are prone to hypoglycemia so you will have to always have Nutri-Cal on hand. At least until they start eating a lot.... I just stopped giving mine some but sometimes I do but I just look at her gums first. I hear that once they get older they don't like it.
Let us know how he does! I'll have you and little Ziggy in my thoughts and prayers!
