| I need Advice My 4 month old Tootsie has been snorkeling periododically. I noticed this after her last set of puppy shots. I know some small dogs do this when they are excited. unfortunately my tootsie does this while she is resting or even sleeping, it almost sounds like she is trying to vomit. As I pet her and call her name she will stop. Its just a concern of mine. Was wondering if this is normal after shots or or should I see the vet. Thanks, |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! First, I would do an inspection of her mouth and teeth... hair can get snagged on a tooth and go halfway down the throat and result in what you are describing. If you can't find anything, then have your vet check her out. Also you can check here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...d-trachea.html

| welcome to yt! if it is a reverse sneeze you should be able to quickly put your fingers over her nose for just a second. that should stop it thats what i do with cedric and it works when he has a reverse sneeze. and not sure if you are but i separate all of my shots and do them one at a time and wait a week and return for the next one.

| At two weeks, a vaccine has the immune system running at it's peak performance. It takes 4 weeks for the vaccine and it's effects to be complete and any by products removed from the body, and the dog's system returns to normal operating status.

| ok thank you so good to know. I will now wait a month to due next shot. they draw blood also for the heartworm test do you think that is best to do after all the vaccs are given or no effect either way?? I just assume having blood drawn lowers the immune but like I said that is an assumption
