I noticed this after her last set of puppy shots. I know some small dogs do this when they are excited. unfortunately my tootsie does this while she is resting or even sleeping, it almost sounds like she is trying to vomit. Tootsie might be feeling some nausea from the shots for a day or two. How long ago did she get the shots? It's definitely a good idea to call the vet and ask, and if it occurs frequently, I'd take her in to be checked out--it might be something else that is more serious.
