| Did Pickles come through okay? I visit YT daily but can't find where I want to go. We kept Pixi in a pen in the living room and mostly took Saffie to day care so Pixi could rest. When Saffie was home she was so overly exuberant so the pen was a safe place for Pixi. I slept (or didn't really sleep) with her for a few nights. It is amazing now to see her run outside with her sister and play. You will all get through the recuperation phase before you know it. Wish I could figure out how to put pics here. Pixi went to rehab and swam in the pool to regain her strength in her rear leg and I took videos and pics. |

| Our surgeon and physical therapist (for the dog) showed us how to just about force Pixi to use her leg. they said little dogs who have the surgery often refuse to use the leg. One thing we were taught to do for her was massage. We massaged her front shoulders round in circles to relax her spine because the spine is stressed with the three leg walking thing. We lured her a lot with different treats to make her walk on soft things like the bed. She wasn't allowed to jump for 6 weeks and that was wicked hard! |
