| YAAY is right!!! I have to brace myself to see him because they look so pitiful after this surgery with the hip and leg shaved and what's usually a pretty big incision. But, we'll be grateful to have him home and on the mend shortly!!! |

| If you lived close, I would refer you to the surgeon I use. My Adina's incision was only about 1.5" .. he is so amazing. Not that it really matters...they all recover the same I think.

| That is amazing! I remember P-Nut's was pretty long, I was kind of surprised. But he did so well recovering and is in great shape now, so I didn't let that bother me tooooo much. |

I'm sure P-Nut will be relieved to have his brother home. How long does Pickles have to be on bedrest?

| P-Nut is definitely the leader of the pack and on patrol at the moment making sure his kitty is where he should be and waiting for Pickles. LOL. About bed rest...let's see...last time with P-Nut, he wasn't allowed to put any weight on the leg for 3 days and the general restriction was 6 weeks with no excessive activity. He didn't have to be crated except for the first few days and when we were gone. Within a few days to a week, he was able to "hop" down the street for potty a few times a day, and we gradually increased the walk time from there - he started being able to use the leg pretty quickly. I remember within about a month, he was in good shape, but still no rough play. So, in short, no bed rest, per se, after the first few days, he'll just have to be mellow for a while. |

| Too funny that P-Nut is in charge of the kitty too. Judging from your FB pic of him with the kitty, he takes his job very seriously. I'm glad the restrictions after this surgery aren't too bad.

| P-Nut "herds" the kitty, and is concerned the cat's going out back (wasn't allowed previously), so he's thinking about writing me up for that. HEE! FHO is a pretty tough recovery, but mostly just at first. The doc does want Pickles using the leg fairly quickly. Keeping him on complete "lock down" wouldn't be easy! Give T & M a snuggle for us! |
