Linda, Cathy thank you as always for your very good input. It is without question that your advice and your detailed answers have helped many a YTer's pup= because of your broad experience. In my book your advice is word, infact; you have both helped me in the past in some very critical situations, thank you.

OP please keep us posted I'd be interested in which route you take with this and especially interested in what brand your vet suggests if you don't homecook.

I definitely want to hear how she makes out. I have a strong interest in pups with this condition and love hearing about the ones who are doing well.

OP, please consult a veterinary nutritionist. I use Dr. Rebecca Remillard.

Not all dogs with PLE will do well on the same diet. Some will do well with good prtein, low fat, and medium chain triglycerides. Others will do well on a hydrolyzed diet.

I also know what it feels like to be to be treated as LilAnnCamp has been.
It is simply not the way I prefer to be talked to and I imagine she feels the same.

Anybody can post as they see fit. YT Staff will judge. My concern here is for LilAnnCamp.

I will say this ONE more time...I did not talk down to anyone in my estimation....and certainly not the way that *I* was spoken to by someone in a highly offensive way but seems some people find that acceptable while ALL I did was try to teach something. This SHOULD have been a teachable moment but sadly it was not. It ended up with another bash fest.

I am finished with this. Yes, let YT staff handle it..in my humble opinion that is what should have happened in the first place.

Do hope that the OP comes back and keeps us updated on her boy. It's too bad that apparently no one is going to let this thread return to what it should be...myself included...although as of this moment, I will NOT defend my actions again. This thread has been reported and I wrote a long post to address this, and then decided I'd just give the short version:

1) A well meaning member was handled a bit too harshly, and there is no way around that fact; when she tried to explain herself, she was harshly treated again.

2) People who are threadjacking are accusing each other of threadjacking...the point? Just let the off topic issue be resolved; there is no need to attempt to figure out who is threadjacking the most .

3) We need to let people express themselves without them being accused of being policers of the forum. It's derogatory and it's just not at all productive. Please let others have an opinion just as you're given the chance to have yours and to respond back.

We all know that passions can run high here, but my gosh, the *anger* on this thread is just not commensurate to any issue at hand here. We have got to better control our anger and our lashing out - bc it's so incredibly hurtful and destructive. I don't think any of us wants hurt and destruction...do we? I doubt it.

Let's *PLEASE* try to do better...to give our full-on opinions without being so turned up that we end up hurting other human beings. It's important that this section in particular remains calm and neutral - while being informative, helpful, and supportive. It's okay to correct each other - that's not in debate here - but let's please try to do it kindly and with some careful tact. That's not asking a whole lot...and I know it'd be appreciated by all .
