Yorkie Yakker | ![]() Not sure if all my posts are being posted right because i do not see some of them, but my yorkie did make a miraculous recovery, she had me scared for almost a week, and did take her to vet first sign of her being sick, and rung thier phone off hook everyday several time about her not eating ,(she was scary looking)and their comment was we have seen dogs go 10 days without eating give the meds time to work, and i said well my dog will not suffer for 10 days she will not make it ,and i called my cousin she said get chicken and dumplings ,i did and she started eating, when before that she was only for 5 days taking anything safe i could suck up a sirenge and force down her throat, she is good now a few more days of antibotics left to take and only problems is now she won't eat nothing but chic and dumplings,,go figure, lol ![]() |

| ![]() Oh she is so cute. I have to suggest though that you try to find another vet, you are correct in that she could not have gone 10 days without eating. these little ones waste away so quickly. when they are sick and wont eat their normal diet you have to find something they will take in you of course want it to be safe for them but they have to take in something. I am so glad she is feeling better ![]()

| ![]() I'm so happy that your little pup is healthy again! From your posts, it doesn't seem like your vet was very helpful. Personally, I would never let my pups go 10 days without eating. I wouldn't even let me 185 lb husband not eat for that long...especially if he was sick. Just a suggestion, but maybe you should try to find a new vet. If something like this ever happens again, you need someone there who can help you in the case of an emergency..whether that be during office hours or a weekend. Anyway, good luck with everything! So glad to know that things are okay now!!!

Yorkie Yakker | ![]() thank you and yes if i would have let her go 10 days she would not be here in my oppinion.so thats why i made her chic and dumplings like my cousin told me too,,and it worked i have her on IAMS healthy natural now she is not wanting too much ,i have a hard time getting her to eat hard food,so as long as i feed her by hand one at a time she eats it ,but if i put it in her bowl she won't,,SPOILED,,lol i am gona mix cream of chicken with it and see if she will that way,so until she takes to it i have been still giving her chic and dumplings too,so she puts all her weight back on and don't loose none,,she has put her weight back on ,but i don't want her to loose none after being so sick. |

| ![]() Chicken and dumplings and cream of chicken does not exactly sound like food that should be given to a pup....especially one that has been ill. It sounds a bit fatty for a dog. Chicken is ok if boiled...and you can put some broth in it. My vet nutritionist says to make chicken broth from a chicken breast with the fat removed. Then you could add rice perhaps? Have you spoken with your vet about ideas on food for her? There are prescription diets for GI issues and my pups have always eaten them readily. I used canned after an illness. Perhaps this link might help you : PetDiets - VNC putting pets' health first!

| ![]() I would not feed my dogs Little cesars dog food. The first yorkie I had, I didnt have anyone to guide me in the right type of food to feed him and I fed him little ceasars. WORST mistake ever! It's junk food for dogs. It gave my Hugo pancreatitis. He was so sick for days, throwing up, diarrhea and a high white blood count. |
