Thank you but its all she will eat i am Trying to make her eat Iams now she is slowly trying some,,but i still have to give her some lil ceasars,too right now till she starts eating the IAMS better so she doesn't loose her weight again.

My Maxie has been diagnosed with severe collapsing trachea with orders to lose weight... from almost 7# to around 6#. He had been getting sneaky treats -- noodles, cheese, crackers... empty calorie treats. He was also fed almost exclusively white meat chicken and rice for meals. So now, he's on Blue Buffalo Grain Free Chicken Formula for Small Breeds (dry). It was a rough transition, but necessary. I find myself careening between begging him to eat his allotment of dry food and disparing because the scale doesn't show the weight loss we need. He had his last dose of prednizone a few days ago. Hoping it will be easier for him to lose weight now. Also, someone mentioned taking your baby to a Veterinary Hospital. If you have one anywhere near you, GO! They are usually attached to a University. The one at University of Georgia is wonderful -- and the fees were less than at my local Vet. Even tho your baby is eating now, you need to know what caused the illness.

OMG...... did you have an autopsy done so you know what happened to that baby??? I do not think I could ever go forward, not knowing what on earth happened to a baby that I had, that was as ill as Layla was..... I DO pray you have changed vets....I do not think I have ever read such non concern, apathetic attitudes, etc, as you related in your posts when you were dealing with vets and that desperately ill little baby, that was asking nothing from anyone, but help to survive.... Personally speaking, if those were the ONLY vets I had access to, or if they were the "best vets around" that I could find/ use, I would never have another puppy. I screen my new owners, and their vets as well, and I make suggestions on vet changes, if when I speak to their vet, I believe that MY puppy's life is going to be in their hands, and they are less than absolutely committed to their patients and their pets. Your vet is all that stands between your puppy and Death....if your vet is not accessable, emotionally and physically, to the health and care of that baby, in an emergency, you will loose your precious baby.....as you did. Surely, you have other vet care for this new baby.....but back to Layla, what was ever given to you as a definitive diagnosis for her untimely demise?

Yes i have switched to another vet in my small town and yes i called the other vet as soon as Monday came and God help what all i had to say in a screaming fit,they said it must of been a severe case of pancritis not so sure with that though i read about liver shunt ,she had all the symtons,,so yes taking different measures with this pup
