| ![]() I got my dog yesterday from a breeder she is a miniature yorkshire terrier 6 weeks old. I had her on my lap wraped up and suddenly her whole body started shaking for about 5 seconds and then went limp like a ragdoll i then picked her up and she stayed limp for about 5 seconds and then started moving again. Could somone explain what happened? I was really scared, Thanks. ![]() |

| ![]() Hi and Welcome to YT! It's very possible... Has she been seen by your vet? Do you have experience in caring for very young puppies? If not, I would ask your vet for very specific instructions on feeding, dangers of hypoglycemia, pottying, etc. or you can find them here...

| ![]() She's only 6 weeks? I would DEFINITELY take her into a vet. Right now. And then once things are calm (if she comes back home today) then come back on here and take a look at our many puppy info threads. 6 weeks is really, really young. I hope that she's ok! And welcome to YT. I have an ex from Nottingham. ![]()

| ![]() Oh my, she is so very young...please get her to a vet. She is to young to be away from her mommy, but i guess whats done is done. Now, she is going to need some special care for several weeks in order to thrive. Bumping this so the more experienced folks with one so young may come on and offer some advice.

| ![]() Contact your "breeder" immediately. Take this enfant to the vet immediately. This is NOT normal and may be why your "breeder" kicked this baby to the curb at such a young age....before it cost HER anything in vet bills. The mortality rate for puppies that, at a VERY young age, are placed with inexperienced owners, is very high, especially if they start out with medical issues. | ![]() She did have a fit. Most likely a preepileptic attack due to low blood sugar. However it could be another medical issue either way this warrents immediate medical care...as in you should have ran out the door to a vets right away. Not too late please go immediately before this happens again-it is life threatening.

| ![]() Your vet needs to see the pup and diagnose the reason for the seizures before anyone can tell you about the needed care. You need to see a vet immediately if you care about this pup. YT members are knowledgeable, but are no substitute for vet care. ![]()

| ![]() You are on THE page and you are getting the advise you need to follow!!! Has this baby been seen by a vet YET??? I have been around these dogs since 1978....I witnessed one of my little dogs having a seizure after it ran into the leg of the coffee table and bumped its little head....I have to say that was the most horrible thing I have witnessed....this little baby, having a seizure and there was NOTHING I could do IMMEDIATELY to relieve this baby!!! I snatched up that baby and flew to the emergency vet! I am experienced...I reread in one of your posts you are not experienced....I can not even imagine you have not taken this baby to a vet YET!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? THE "NEEDED CARE" YOU ARE WANTING INFO ON??? GET TO THE VET ASAP!!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 01-27-2013 at 07:38 AM. |

| ![]() Sounds like a seizure. Your pup is VERY young and quite honestly too young for it to be away from it's mother. Sounds like a back yard breeder. You definitely need to take it to the vet and find out the underlining cause.
