Praying for little Hope, and wanting so much to hear a good outcome for this little trouper. Hope is Lola's middle name, named after a young girl I mentor who in spite of being born to a drug addicted mom who has been in and out of prison and is in the custody of a trashy grand mother is thriving in spite of her family. So I think Hope is a fitting name for a little girl that is battling the odds.

8AM Last evening I got some good new for Hope. She was drinking a bit of water. But this morning all that good news has been dashed away. Yesterday the vet gave her a meal at 5pm of higher protein to see if she would head press and this morning when he went in she was almost comatose. She is just laying there and not really seeing with a far away look in her eyes. We are sure now this is a liver shunt baby. Di I take her to Purdue animal clinic which is a university clinic about 80 miles away? If they do diagnois a shunt can I afford the surgery? This is horrible news. I asked the vet for a few hours before I have to tell him to euthanize her or not.

Oh no I am so very sorry.This is such a hard decision.

You have done everything you can for this sweet baby. She was in such horrible shape when you got her, so small, tiny and weak. Your Vet has done just about everything they can to help. If she does in fact have a Shunt, she is so small and young at this point to with stand the surgery.

I wanted to give her a chance and I guess I knew that there was a possibility that she may have a shunt but I prayed that she just needed some TLC. I don't know that I can put her through anymore. She is so small and I don't know that she can pull through a surgery like this and my resources are wearing thin now too. Maybe I should have just let them euthanize her last Monday. Then she would not have had to endure this week.
