| I called the vets office and they just said that she is on the IV's and they were able to get the lab sent out and that hopefully they will have that back in the AM. They said that she was curled up on a blanket sleeping. I am praying that she makes it through the night. She was so weak and thin when I dropped her off. She could hardly move. She stood for a couple of minutes but was too weak to walk. Please let her be alright. |

| so sad and so good of you for taking her in, I can just imagine what your vet bills will be, I sure hope she comes through all this because you must be a saint. Poor little girl you can only wonder what the wee thing is thinking about.

| Donating YT 3000 Club Member | A puppy that small can't digest wet food let alone dry. Best thing to make is a puppy gruel. You did right by the puppy by taking him away from irresponsible people. Thank you for doing this. Wish there were other people like you. I hope he is doing better. Please keep us updated hugs |

| Thanks for all the prayers. I hope she made it through the night. I was instructed to call around 10:30am to see if the labs are in and how she is doing, if I do not hear anything by then. The next two hours will be hard to wait it out. Praying..... |

| Some of these posts dont make sense to me that a puppy cant tolerate canned food at 5 weeks. When I hAD baby kittens I began weaning them to canned food at 5 weeks as the vet told me too and they had no problems. I dont see why it would be any different for pups

| Update 10/9/2012 10:24am That scared me! I called and while I was on hold the vet called me back on my cell phone. I thought that he was going to tell me the puppy was going to die. But he said that she is looking better this morning with the fluids and all. They got the labs back and her electrolytes were all over the place and her sugar was 50 which is low. Also her Protein was high and her BUN was high. He is thinking that she has a bacterial gut infection. She is losing blood in her stools as well. So he is tube feeding her today and continuing with the IV's and antibiotics as well as the anti nausea medication. he said that this would be not a couple days, but more like a week of care to get her well if hopefully she has no systemic issues. He seemed a bit optimistic that at least she was up and looking around this morning. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that she continues to improve. I have to call again tonight to see how she is doing. |

I feel anyone that can be that emotionally callous should not have pets. I am glad to know this baby is now in loving hands.
