A big thanks to all the wonderful people on thread. I need your support and it means a lot to me. You are a great bunch of yorkie people 5:30PM update I spoke with the vet again and he said that he hated to get my hopes up too high but he feels she is doing better. He has tube fed her several times today and she has had three bowel movements-no solid yet. He says that she is a bit more animated in her movements. He offered her some food, but she still did not want it but it is still very early yet. It takes a bit after an antibiotic to feel better so I am hoping that her appetite will pick up and she will be eating soon. She has kept the tube feedings down so far. I am anxious to see what tomorrow brings for this baby. The vet said that it will take several more days that she did not get in this shape in a few days and will not come out of it in 2-3. I am hoping that if all go's well maybe the end of this week I will bring her home.

10Am I was just told by the receptionist that the vet said that she is still refusing her food, was tube fed again this morning and they are going to repeat her lab work. They will be keeping her again another night. Not sounding as encouraging as last evening. I need a name for this little yorkie girl. Any suggestions?

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Ajali pronounced (ah JAH lee) means second chance. I think it's a beautiful name and very appropriate.

10AM Thursday morning I called the vets office this morning but the vet was in with another client. I was told by the receptionist that the puppy was lethargic and still on an IV. I asked that she have the vet phone me. This is not looking good for the puppy. I hate the ideal that after all this they may have to euthanize her after all. There must be something more seriously wrong with her. I was told again by the people that I got her from that the litter owner gave her to a friend because the mother dog was not feeding her and that the friend then gave her to another person who bottle fed her for a week and when they switched her to dog food she started going down. I was told her birthday was around 8-1-12 which makes her 10 weeks old. Just waiting for the vet to call.

12PM: Just got off the phone with the vet and he said that she is doing so so. Her chemistry looks better but where her white blood cells were so high, now they are low, almost not there at all. He thinks that may be because of all the fluids diluting them so much. He said that he is not sure if he is just being impatient or expecting to much, too soon. He also said that his worry is a liver shunt. He said that it would take days to get bile acids back since they are sent to Texas so he is going to feed her a load of protein to see how she reacts to it and if there is any head pressing. On the bright side she has had no vomiting at all and her stools are looking much better. She really need all the prayers she can get right now that this is not a liver shunt. She is too small to make it through a surgery.
