| Im not sure how I could. I am going to look the Dr she suggested up and see if I can call and talk to them, maybe if I give them Charlies clinical on the phone they could offer me some information or suggestions.

| A better day Well I have been doing some research at the suggestion of a friend and have been finding some very useful information. I have decided to make an appointment with the internal specialist in my area but I am gathering all of my information so that I go in an informed mommy. I spent yesterday being sad and scared and today I am on a mission. Im not sure that Charlie needs to have surgery, while he does have a couple of things that could fall into the category of a shunt he also does NOT have most of them and the few that he has I have found to have many varying opinions on if they are shunt related. The symptoms that everyone seems to agree on Charlie does not have. So I would be a fool not to go to the specialist because I of course am not a doctor but I am going to be more informed when I go. Charlie is NOT going to eat the L/D can food I have seen allot of info on a Hills hepatic food that is supposed to be low in purines, I think it comes in a crunchy type he might like that, has anyone used it?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I'm glad you are taking him to the specialist. My Cali had bile acids about the same and after a liver biopsy when she was spayed she was diagnosed with MVD. A very mild case and I just keep her on low protein diet and she has done fine for 7 years. I hope you get good news at the specialists.

| Well, there is an imbalance of some kind causing the stones. I hope they can find what it is in order to save him from any more stone formation. Please let us know how things are going. |

| I think you are eating this elephant the only way possible....one bite at a time! And I think with research, you will learn sooooo much...when you go to the specialist, you will be "an informed consumer" and you will understand what is being said to you, as well as having enough knowledge to know what questions to ask! Good for you! I think the internist is an excellent place to start! Knowledge is power, and you are indeed becoming "an informed mommy"! |
